AWESOME REMOTE BUT YOU MUST READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!
I own a Roku Premiere with a simple remote which does nothing but work the Roku no TV on/off or mute or volume control. We got a new TV in the Livingroom and purchased the Roku Stick which comes with the Voice remote that can do stuff like control TV on/off, volume along with mute but it also can do voice commands which we never use. So my wife loves having to use only one remote to watch TV and for months she has wanted a remote like the Voice that can control both the TV and Roku in the bedroom without having to grab two controls. I tried the Stick Voice remote but it didn't work with my TV or Roku.I found this and it said it was pre-programmed for my Roku and Vizio TV so I bought it!!! It came today I put new batteries in aimed it at the TV and Roku hit the function buttons and the Roku worked like it should. Hit volume for TV and nothing no volume control no mute no on/off!!!! So being smart I grab an old remote and do to the Roku settings to program the remote and it doesn't work either! So I go get the little plastic bag the remote came in to return it and there is a folded up piece of paper and I pull it out and it says right on it that the remote is pre-programmed for Vizio and a few others and I think BS. I open it up and it tells you how to get the program for your TV. Each function key is a different TV manufacture. For Vizio you press the Home button and the Return (round arrow going counter clockwise) the power button flashes when it comes on solid press the OK button and guess what it worked!!! So that is why they put instructions in with stuff I though that was what YouTube was for!!! Only bad part is now the wife wants 4 more for each of the kids TV's and her craft room!!

works exactly as advertised
I didn't like the setup with my Roku Express hooked to my Samsung "Smart" TV because I had to keep two remotes handy. The Roku Express remote doesn't have a volume control, so I had to use the Samsung remote to adjust the TV volume. This remote has both volume control and mute buttons and I no longer need the Samsung remote to adjust the volume. One less remote sitting on the table. There is a small, easy to follow instruction sheet packed with the remote. Just exactly follow the instructions and you will quickly be in business. Setup took less than 10 seconds (it took longer to unpack it than it did to program it) and this remote worked perfectly right out of the package. And you don't need the old Roku remote to set this up. So if you somehow lost your remote, no sweat - this will work fine for you.As the Product Description clearly states, this remote works only with infrared (IR) type Roku devices. If your Roku uses Radio Frequencty (RF) for the remote, then this will not work for you.

TCL TV + Soundbar - One Remote, easy setup
If you've had issues with similar remotes, this might be the one for you.I have a TCL Roku TV and a Vizio soundbar. There is no way to control the soundbar volume using the TV volume and an optical cable, so I was stuck with two remotes. This remote controls both with very little setup, and the setup process was EASY.First, the instructions list the types of devices you can control and the button combination required - I held down a couple buttons for a few seconds and it was done. The remote then controlled my TCL TV.The volume buttons didn't control my soundbar, so I had to program them. This was just as easy - put it in programming mode, select a button to program, point the remotes together, press the button on the original remote, light flashes or turns solid, DONE. I did all three volume buttons in about a minute including reading the instructions. The volume buttons now work on the soundbar. The range is equivalent to or better than my original TCL remote, and the remotes look and feel identical.Part of my enthusiasm comes from a prior experience with a VERY similar remote. I had to program every button on the remote, which was a tedious task of programming and testing each button, since the programming function seemed to work about 20% of the time. After all that it had one button that sent out a very weak signal and I had to be withing 2 feet of the TV for it to work. The only caveat is you need the original remote(s) if any programming is required for specific buttons.

Although it shows head-to-head learning for programmable keys from other remotes it does not do it!
Although it shows head-to-head learning for programmable keys from other remotes it does not do it. There are NO instructions as to how to use the learning function if it even has one! I had previously ordered and received this exact same ROKU remote and programmed the keys to work power and volume for our receiver. When we replaced the receiver I needed to reprogram the keys but has lost the instructions, so I ordered the exact same item, only to find NO INSTRUCTIONS. Returned it

Controls TV and Roku w/o issue. Hoops to jump through to control other devices.
Out of the box the instructions tell you how to pair with a bunch of different brands of TV and control your Roku. My Roku is an Express. However, I wanted to control the volume on my Yamaha RX-V683 receiver. I got it to work but only after scouring the internet for instructions. Basically the remote will control the volume on your TV, I have a Samsung. However, you need to use ARC on your TV (and receiver) to control the volume on your receiver. I had to enable ARC (and/or HDMI-CEC) on my Samsung TV and on the Yamaha receiver. My TV then told me that the input I was using didn't support ARC and to move my HDMI cable to a different input (which I thought was awesome). Once I did that, it started working. Basically the Roku remote tells your TV to turn up/down the volume and your TV in turn tells your receiver to turn up/down the volume. Note - from the item description I thought I would be able to program the Roku remote volume buttons, learn from my existing remote, but I don't believe that's the case. There doesn't seem to be any "learning" function on this remote.
