Not for me, but a very good present for theoretical physicists :)
Very good quality overall, had a little wrinkle on the edges, but it has travelled a lot, and the damage could be easily remedied. As for the content, the person who got the book was very happy with the modern and up-to-date format of different subjects listed in the book, he definitely recommends it to anyone who is eager to learn in this field, a book worth having on your bookshelf. :)

Solid and clear
This is a great book for learning mathematical, classical mechanics. I've been using it to help me design a 3D physics simulation program for rigid body dynamics and it has answered all of my questions.I've also used Landau - Mechanics: Volume 1, which I found to be quite dense and fast paced. Landau's explanations seem well suited to an abstract physicist, less to a pragmatic mechanist who just wan't to get things moving! This book (Goldstien's) goes into plenty of detail and often gives several different explanations for the results discussed.I also like the numerous examples where the maths is tied in to some excellent non-trivial practical examples, like the procession of the Earth about its symmetrical axis. This grounds the maths nicely with proper physics.

Classical Mechanics
The book arrived promptly and met all standards described by the buyer. I'd recommend this book to anyone taking an advanced mechanics course, particularly courses involving Lagrangian treatment of problems.

not for me
i bought this book for someone other than me, so i can't give an honest opinion about it. all i can say is that the one who got the book never complained so i'm guessing it's good...

Five Stars
A clear exposition of advanced methods of dealing with problems in mechanics is given.
