JUST A PERFECT SOLUTION FOR EXERCISE
I was looking for a weight machine to accompany my recumbent bike for a home gym. Most were just too big for the room. I really wanted something that folded away when not in use, as this room doubles as my home office.I remember seeing the Total Gym a few years back and began looking at them, reading the reviews, and watching some videos on You Tube. Total Gym does not use weights in its main function, its based on resistance. I ordered the Total Gym Apex G5 at a price below what the weight machine I was considering would have cost.My decision was an easy one to make. I looked at all the exercises I wanted to incorporate in a workout routine, and every one of them I could do on a weight machine, could also be done on the Total Gym AND achieve a nearly identical result. If I were to max out the ten resistance levels The Apex G5 gives me, there were other ways to increase the amount of resistance in the future. It can be done by adding a weight bar and weights to the sliding bench or using resistance bands. My intent was not to use the Total Gym to replace free weights or as a tool for "power lifting". Its about getting toned and develop some muscle definition with out getting involved in the whole "join a gym" thing. It folds up out of the way when not in use, easy to set up and allows me to work out to my schedule with out going to a gym and pay the fees that come with it. There are videos on you tube by "Sliding bench trainer" that's like having your own personal trainer.Amazon shipped it with 2 hours of ordering it and I had it the following day! It weighed about 80 pounds, I took it down stairs, opened up the box and had it set up in about ten minutes. It's a very sturdy, stable unit and excellent quality. Give the Total Gym some consideration. They have 3 different Apex models. I chose the Apex G5 so I would have enough resistance levels to move up to in the future. Well worth the price.... very satisfied!

Very pleased with The Total Gym.
This exercise machine, (The Total Gym), is wonderful. It's all that is advertised in the videos, and more. It's very versitile, and I can do so many exercies on it. It's comfortable and easy to use. It was also easy and quick to set up. It's very sturdy and balanced, well made. I use it almost every day as part of my regular exercies routine. It's well worth the price.

Fantastic home-gym setup, easy to set up and use, exercises feel good, well worth the money.
Like many of us, I was forced to stop attending my beloved local gym due to the pandemic. I set up a decent home gym, with free weights, a medicine ball, workout mat and balance board, but I felt a bit stuck, and although I stayed in decent shape, I wasn’t getting the results I wanted.A friend told me I should get a Total Gym, and although I scoffed at first (“You mean the one that Chuck Norris hawks on TV?!”) I looked into it.So, I did a ton of research online, read reviews and compared features, and the Total Gym brand did seem legit. I settled on this Total Gym model as the perfect balance between price and functionality. I’m a small woman, 63 years old, and my goals are overall fitness, toning, weight loss and health. I am not looking to build bulk, and the “limited” range of 6 resistance levels - other models offer more - is sufficient for me.I live alone, but using leverage and gravity, I was able to get the heavy box through the house down the stairs to my basement workout area. Unboxing was fairly straightforward. (I will say, be SURE to remove all the packing materials. There are some stealthy bits of cardboard I didn’t find at first.) Set up was easy. The Total Gym comes with a set-up guide, exercise guide and wall poster showing all the major exercises. It took me a couple of days to get the hang of using it, but after that’s was off and running. Exercises are effective and the Gym moves smoothly. I’ve always enjoyed working out, but now I can’t wait to get downstairs every morning and hit the Gym.Exercises in booklet and on poster are well described and easy to follow, and the workouts feel good. Accessories are easy to install and take off. The Total Gym also comes with a workout DVD and subscription to online videos, but I haven’t used either of those, so can’t speak to that aspect of this package. One thing I added to my order was a set of interlocking 24”x24” floor mats to place under the gym, as I’d read thy have a tendency to scoot around on hard surfaces if you don’t place mats under them. I recommend plastic/rubber mats it you are using your Gym on a hard surface. My whole setup takes up a space around 10’x4’ - and at just under $350.00, the gym and mats together were less than my yearly gym membership. For fun, community and support I hope to go back to my local gym when I can, but for now the Total Gym is a fantastic alternative.

Total quality workout
This is my second Total gym. Quality and design are worth mentioning. Being a retiree, this has all I need to keep myself in shape. The only complaint is that it was listed about $100 cheaper a couple of months after purchase. The company still gave me a $40 credit which I appreciate and they are customer focused as well. If you're older keep in mind you have to be able to get up when you're done working out. It's easy to get down onto the machine which is comfortable and functions as advertised. It's just hard getting up sometimes. This Total gym has everything you need but I would wait for it to go on sale. I paid $470 so look out for sales and/or coupons!
