Wonderful Tool
This is my second one of these great ceramic scrapers (I somehow lost the first one). It comes in handy for many chores. I just used it to quickly remove some dried super glue from a quartz countertop without marring the counter. Works for all kinds of light scraping jobs where a razor blade is too harsh. It never nicks or gets nicked, and cleans up in the dishwasher. You need one of these.

Workhorse
I have two of these beauties now. They are the most used and effective items in my array of utensils. I've used these for multiple tasks like scrapping cast iron and chrome grill grates, cast iron pans; even for scrapping grunge off the kitchen tile floor when mopping. Even works on my stainless steel stove cook top and granite countertops. You can control the pressure and angle of the blade quite easily; allowing you to get just the right amount of "help" needed, Small enough to get into tight spaces and yet ablle to get tough work done. The blade is sturdy and the handle is easy to manage. Handy tool with great utility.

Works great!
Bought this for the pool. Works great for removing the white stuff on the pool tiles without scratching them.

WARNING
WARNING - I don't understand the reviews that state this is great for glass cooktops. The package clearly warns against using it for that purpose but I trusted the reviews then tested it with caution and it scratched with ease. Unfortunately I had purchased several of these and gave the extras to my daughter and daughter-in-laws (before testing them). Before I could warn them they scratched their cooktops as well. Even though I am greatly dissapointed I gave four stars because the scraper is FANTASTIC for butcher boards, non-coated cooking grills, and for removing rust or paint from non-finished surfaces. It WILL harm coated barbeque grills, baked enamel, glass cook tops, and similar finished surfaces that you wouldn't take sandpaper to. HEED the manufacturer warnings which state: "Do not use on glass or delicate tilework. Do not use on non-stick surfaces such as teflon coated grills."

Its ultra-sharp advanced ceramic blade removes baked-on foods without leaving metal scratch marks.Scratched and gouged the heck out of my cooktop! I am very angry that it ruined the surface of the cooktop.

Versatile and Useful Scraping Tool
I purchased the Kyocera Ceraplaner four years ago to refinish the top oiled wood surface of a kitchen island. The Kyocera did the job, I put it in a drawer, and pretty much forgot about it. Recently I needed something to clean burned gunk off my ceramic stove top and thought of the Kyocera. Some reviewers have reported problems with scratching but the Kyocera worked well for my stovetop, remarkably well. Your mileage may vary.Tonight I used the Kyocera to clean two years' worth of baked on grease and grime from the glass window of my Cuisinart steam oven. Quick and easy! I was so pleased with the result I decided I must write this review. As others have pointed out, the blade of the Kyocera is not sharp and there is little danger of cutting oneself.

A parent must-have
I purchased this item years ago from a specialty cooking store. At the time I needed it to get grunge off my wooden cutting boards. But now, I don't know what I'd do without it.Since my first purchase, I've had kids. And the mess in the house has reached a whole new level. I take this planer out about three times a week - I use it to get dried oatmeal off the table, burned-on hamburger off the stove top, and (my personal favorite) Scotch tape off nearly every surface of the house. The edges are sharp enough to work, but soft enough that they haven't damaged even the corners of my painted-metal stove. The handle is well-designed and comfortable even for extended periods of scraping. And because it's not actually cut-yourself sharp, I can even hand it over to the children to clean up their own messes. If you've ever found yourself wondering if there was an alternative to the razor blade for fine scraping jobs, you've clicked on the right item.
