9116 Particulate Respirator Dust Mask with Valve, Two-Strap Cup Style Design, Lightweight with Cushioning Nose Foam, NIOSH Approved 10 Masks

They feel lighter than the more expensive ones I usually buy. But for someone on a budget works just fine.

These are a much better improvement over the single strap non NIOSH approved masks when you are dealing with stuff you don't want in your lungs

Mask comes sealed (not bread clipped), airtight in plastic. There is very little or virtually no chemical smell and what there is airs out to nothing. This differs from 3M 8511 which has strong chemical smell that does not air out and is bread clipped maybe to minimize the smell. Mask is large enough and roomy. The metal nose piece is weak and does not hold its shape over time. My solution is to use a contoured foam nose seal that fills the space without needing the metal strip which is then unloaded. This I do with every mask I use for long term seal and nose bridge comfort for pennies per mask. Straps are comfortable weave. Inner liner is ridgid and braced with ridges that prevent the mask liner from separating and being sucked into your face transferring contaminants to your mouth. The soft liner is on the outside which makes no sense. So far, the inner liner does not itch or irritate. Price is good for a vented mask. Winner, ONLY with contoured nose gap seal without which it is leaky. The color is white, not yellow, and as at 2023 carries a verified NIOSH approval. Prior to that it did not which explains the confusion in other reviews.

Got these because I plan to try some amateur woodworking and wanted them for sawdust, but I had an idea to try these when I did a DEEP cleaning of our bedroom which probably hadn't been dusted in a couple years. I dusted every single surface, all furniture, the ceiling fan, and vacuumed for a solid 4 hours.Not even a single sniffle. Without this mask, as always, my allergies and asthma would have quickly been triggered and I would have felt awful for a little while. It was also extremely easy to breathe, and never became uncomfortable even during those 4 hours. This has been an absolute game-changer and I plan to use these every time cleaning now.

These masks arrived on time by UPS. These are great quality. I really like the fact that they have an exhale valve so you don't get a sweaty face thing going. We have bad air right now because of wildfires and the air is thick with ash and smoke. These help a lot! Thanks so much.

Fabric separates from metal clip & plastic inside doesn't seal well. Using a slightly thicker & less dense foam inside would have sealed better.

The valve in the mask allows the hot air to escape do you don't feel like you're suffocating. They fit well and are easy on/off.

The valves do not work so my eyeglasses fog up almost immediately. I threw these out and bought the 3M brand.
