Trintec 12 & 24 Hour Military Time Swl Zulu Time 24hr Wall Clock 10" - White Dial with Black Moon DSP03

At first, I was worried that it would be too noisy in my usually quiet ham radio ham shack. But no cause for alarm; this clock is quiet and a beautiful addition to the shack! Easy to see from across the room and a joy to look at. Now I have both local time and GMT just a glance away from the operating position; just what I wanted. Not made in China, like most everything is these days, but from our neigbors to the north; Canada. If it someday it falls off it's hook on the wall and breaks, there'll be no need to research again, I'll buy the same brand in a heartbeat! Whata great find, eh?

This is a great clock for a ham radio station. It is accurate and quiet - no loud ticks as the second hand jumps. I really like the dual time feature so I can see both UTC and local time. The only problem with it is it is a little complicated to read as the second time zone is in 24 hour time on the outside ring, but local time is in 12 hour format, which is a little odd, but maybe makes the clock that much more unique. Anyway, I love it and it looks great in my station - definitely makes a statement.

This clock stopped 4 times in the first 48hrs I had it. Love the design, especially the 24hr and 12 combo, but a clock that can't clock is nothing more than a bad sundial.Returned it.

I should have looked at the picture more closely. Yes it does show the UTC- military time in relation to standard 12 hour time but you still need to do a conversion (e.g. - 5 hours non daylight savings) to get a published “Zulu” time. E.g. 7pm shows 1900 UTC on clock. Great! But if you are an aviator and need the “Zulu” time, you still have to subtract 5 hours from 1900 hr to get 1400zulu. Clock does not convert the latter.

The UTC hand started to randomly stop after about 6 months. New batteries did not solve the problem as the basic clock continued to work. This is the second one of these that I've had. The first one, which was a gift, had the same problem after about a year. I thought the clock was defective, so I bought a new one that ended up with the same problem. There is something wrong with the mechanism design. I have now switched to the MFJ digital clock for my ham shack and it is working fine. So, save yourself some annoyance and don't buy this clock.
