The picture makes the bottles look grey. They are actually clear and see through, so when you put the sauce in they turn red. That way you can also easily see when you are running out.

Q: Are the containers dishwasher safe?

No not dishwasher safe. The writing comes off very easily. I've had mine only a week and a half and writing already half gone. I only washed by hand once. I never put in dishwasher.

Q: how do you refill it?

You just unscrew green top and refill it or wash it
