Exceeded my expectations!
We are in the middle of gutting our northern Minnesota cabin and haven't had running water for months. This toilet has been a lifesaver!! I upgraded to the manual flush which was $50 more and took a week longer to arrive, but we intend to use it as a winter toilet when our water is shut off and I didn't want to worry about batteries exploding. Plus, I read several reviews where people were having issues with the battery flush system. We added some RV antifreeze to the water and didn't have any issues when it was dropping below freezing. We are using the Walex Porta-Pak Black Tank Deoderizer Drop-ins that I saw recommended and RV toilet paper and we have been amazed at how there is no smell and how easy it is to empty. The Walex Drop-ins help break everything down quickly. When it's full I empty it into our in-ground holding tank. I was nervous the first time because I read some horror stories, but if you use the correct products and press the button at the top to release air pressure then everything should come out with no mess. If you are emptying it into a toilet you would want to hold it as close to the water as you could or there could be some splashing, which would be true even if you were pouring plain water into the toilet. This toilet is very sturdy and comfortable and even my 70+ year old mother-in-law used it and was impressed. That's really saying something!! The bottom line is, use the right products and read the directions and you will be glad you invested in this toilet!

Outstanding product -- right height and easy to maintain!
when our existing Thetford toilet began giving us some problems recently, we knew what item would replace it ... THE EXACT SAME MODEL. Our prior camp toilet had been in use for nearly 10 years. We like the seat height, we like the ease of "flush" ... and the ease of emptying the tank. And our camper does not need a "black water" tank, only gray water for shower and sink. This is so much simpler. We love this Thetford camp toilet.

Would buy it again
Second best thing we have bought for our camper van. The first being our Arb refrigerator. We have stealth camped in many locations and having the ability to use a toilet without leaving the van is priceless. We have had zero issues with it. Useful tip is open the flush valve BEFORE use. The waste tank holds atmospheric pressure and will spray waste on you if you open it after use with the lid still open. You can remove the waste tank and drain it in any toilet. Would definitely buy again

Easy to dump, very affordable, no smell.
I’m a full time urban van lifer. My first toilet is a nature’s head, which costs over 1000 dollars. That thing is hard to dump and smells very bad(some might say I’m not using it correctly. But if you are charging someone 1000 for a toilet, the least you can do is to make it fool proof). So I went ahead and looked for alternatives. There’s another kind of toilet out there that also costs 1000 bucks and it wraps up your poo in tin foil so there’s no smell, but you have to buy cartridge refills and it ends up costing around a dollar every time you use it. That wouldn’t work for me because I’m a full timer and use my toilet probably 5 times a day. Then I discovered this toilet. It’s been a few months now and I’m still very happy with it. You can take care of the dumping every easily with a leak proof, drawstring trash bag thanks to the conveniently designed outlet tube. For me, my thetford gets full every week since I’m a full timer, and so I dump it every week. Takes less than 10 minutes. This should be the gold standard for rv toilets.

Need more detailed instructions on how to carry
I did like it. Please include instructions about how to secure the mechanism that opens and closes the flush hole. Want to make sure it’s secure before dumping. Otherwise, loved it. Just needed instructions on how to secure before carrying & how to carry it. Can you carry it like a suitcase by handle? I saw person on internet do this. Is this correct or would this put too much pressure on the flush hole? Would love to have just better instructions on this.Otherwise you will love this. It’s very comfortable and sturdy. It’s a lovely portable potty. It was very comfortable for male and female. Loved it.

The Throne of the Wilderness
This porta potty is a game-changer for camping -no more scary public toilets! It's compact, convenient, and offers much-needed privacy. My husband even spends less time on it, probably because of the smaller size (efficiency at its finest!). If you want a reliable, comfortable little throne for the great outdoors, this one does the job!
