Exactly as described
I was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews that the “threads were missing” in this deck. In any matter the deck showed up primer black and ready to roll. Painted it it, transferred parts from my old deck with no issues. These decks have soft metal nutserts for the original bolts to “make threads” if you have an impact. If you don’t it literally takes you 5-7 mins longer to run the bolts in by hand. You don’t have to buy or use a tap. Excellent buy, very fast shipping. Couldn’t be happier.

Fits YTS4000 MD: 917.289271 Craftsman riding mower
One of the mysteries in life seems to be verifying the exact part number of the mower deck for the YTS4000 MD: 917.289271 Craftsman riding mower. This is the correct one if you have the 42" cut. Seems well made, steel. The original one lasted about 6 years on my yard, sandy. The second lasted about six years. This is #3. Previous reviewer is correct about several areas not per-threaded. An inexpensive tap and die set will be needed.

Replacement mower deck
Deck was a exact replacement for my Craftsman Dys4500. I was very impressed how they reached out to me before they shipped it to make sure that it would fit. Some of the other reviews talk about how some of the holes weren't tapped out. I had only three holes that needed to be tapped for 3/8 course thread. Wasn't a problem for me as I had a tap and die set.

Not threaded. Pain in the butt
It fits my mower perfectly, it just sucked trying to three the bolts since nothing on here is threaded. It probably took an extra 30 minutes just trying to get a bolt to thread straight.

This as an exact replacement for the craftsman 917 288260 tractor. A little pricey but all bolt holes ect lined up perfectly. Delivered very quick.
