Update: my review is after having my Flexispot desk for 1.5 years now. I spend roughly 20 hours a week at my desk working, so the desk has seen some considerable wear since I first used it.I won’t be long-winded with my review but want to note a few important things:1) the desk hides swirls and scratches extremely well. I opted not to use a desk mat - I coat my desk using a hydroponic polish which minimizes fingerprints and hides imperfections. See third pic of what a small nick looks like - you can’t see it unless you put your face right on top of it. See fourth pic of what some slight swirling looks like. You won’t see it unless your head is titled and put your face at a 90 degree angle to the desk lol. I’m blown away by the surface’s ability to withstand a beating yet clean up beautifully.2) I have yet to have an issue with the rising or lowering of the desk - pretty impressed by the power longevity here.3) I love the white top but would instantly buy a grey top if they offered one.Based on all the selling points, you simply can’t beat the price and quality offered by Flexispot. I went from the popular IKEA desk to this and couldn’t be more pleased with my decision.The only negative I “had” of the desk was the white label on the side of the desk. However, before I put the desk together, I spray painted that black for a clean line look. Absolutely recommend that you do this prior to installation! So simple but a game changer. You’re welcome!

This desk is wonderful! I got it to switch from a stationary to a sit/stand desk. I liked that the desktop was one solid piece (vs some that are 2 pieces), and I liked the combination of desktop and desk leg colors. My dad and I worked to put this together and it took us about an hour. All the of the screws and things needed came in nicely labeled bags and it was really easy to figure out what we needed to use. You do need to supply your own screwdriver or drill. Once put together, it was easy to set the default heights for sitting and standing. The desk is actually pretty quiet when it moves! It is not super fast to raise/lower, but it moves along at a nice pace and everything feels sturdy when it's moving. I have been using this for about a week now and I love it!

Construction:Construction time took about 1.5 hours, instructions were acceptable, but could be revised to make information a bit more clear in places. It seems like the construction can be mirrored for left/right hand controller, the underside of the desk even has pre-drilled holes for that very thing, but the instructions only point you to how to build it with the controller on the right hand side. By the time I realized this I was about 4 or 5 steps deep.Quality/Surface:Nothing feels like it's going to fall off or break, I also purchased the desktop along with the legs; the surface feels properly sealed to the point that I'm confident allowing a condensation covered glass on it. The plastic buffer on the edges feels secure and tight. Sometimes I tend to get a clang from one of the legs when I lean into the desk or lean onto the desk too much, it's quite minor and I doubt I'll notice it after a couple of weeks of use.Height AdjustmentPre-saved height adjustment is easy to set and change, there are 4 programmable buttons along with an up and down adjustment. Adjustment levels are fine enough to be able to find the perfect height, I was worried I might be stuck with a setting that's just a bit too high or a bit too low, which was not the case here.Shipping (legs and surface)Because I ordered the legs and the surface in one order, I was only given tracking updates for the first item that arrived. After, amazon just shows delivered unless you reach out to the seller asking for the second tracking number. I did this, and they were cooperative and were able to provide that tracking number around 24 hours after I requested. Just keep in mind, the sooner you ask, the sooner they'll probably get back to you with that.Overall I'm very happy with my purchase so far after having it for about a week.

The actual desktop height at its lowest setting is about 29.25", NOT 28.1". Unfortunately I didn't pay close enough attention to the description which says 28.1 inches *without the desktop mounted*.... Mildly infuriating but whatever. Additionally, the surface smudges and is a bit of an eye sore. Both of these things may not be big issues for you, but for me, the height is a deal breaker and I'm going to need to figure something else out. Other than that, it appears to be a great product. I got the one with 30" depth which I do like a lot. It's sturdy and setup wasn't too bad. Comes in two boxes. I'm 6'2 and the standing height for me is fine

TL;DR - this is my second "cheap" standing desk and this is leagues above the first.Pro: materials are much higher quality than cheaper options and worth the upgrade.Pro: the desk is a single piece and is much thicker than other brands.Pro: the width can be adjusted so that you might replace the top with something smaller or larger in the future.Pro: crystal clear communication. The desktop arrived damage and a replacement was sent immediately. The seller also let me know it would arrive in two packages and may even arrive on two dates.Con: the 55 x 28 x 1 inch desk was 55 x 27.5 x 1 inches. Personally, that half an inch difference is moot, but would have been nice to know.Con: the black table top is a fingerprint magnet, but I expect any black table top to be like that.Con: the controls are basic. The (overall worse) other brand desk had better controls like a lock out and an alarm to remind you to stand up.Overall the better quality materials make this the best option a budget friendly standing deck.
