Easiest set up/installation ever, LAN works great!
Firstly, the installation of this product was the easiest thing I’ve ever had to do tech wise. All you have to do is plug it into the outlet you want to use after you adjust the antennas to look like how they are in the pictures, wait for the lights to turn blue then go to wifi settings and it’ll come up and automatically bring you to the page you need to go to once you click on it. After that you just select the network you want it connected to, put the password in, and you’re good to go pretty much!I also really like how it came with a LAN cable. I set mine right next to my PlayStation and was finally able to play with a cable connection. Before I had this router my PlayStation was saying that my download speed connection was only 15 mbps which is not the best at all, and now despite the wifi router being almost 80 feet away and other devices being connected my download speed is just under 50 mbps. Not the greatest in the world but already feels infinitely better while gaming!

Makes my streaming more stable!!!
I have a lot of wi-fi drains between smart hub with lights and plugs, wi-fi thermostat, 5 computers, two x-boxes, 4 smart TVs, 4 tablets, 4 smart phones . . . I think that’s everything. This may not sound like a lot to some of you, but I live in a rural town of 1800 people and our available internet service is not spectacular. We manage to get by.However, I have a problem with streaming services starting at around 7:00pm every night. Streaming movies tend to have buffering issues regardless of what definition I am streaming at. I had my internet provider out a couple of times about a month ago, when our service went totally out and the guy said that, (once they fixed the lines), the only thing that I could do to make things any faster was to try a wi-fi range extender, since I was maxed out on their available speed.I finally decided to take the plunge and try one. This one sounded like it might be able to help, so I ordered it.The setup was really easy, and only took a few minutes.Evening streaming has gone from taking nearly three and a half hours to watch a movie that was 145 minutes prior to the device, (due to buffering problems every few minutes), to just a couple of nights ago only having four buffering issues through all of 110 minute movie. That is a HUGE difference that, while not perfection, is as close as I could get from the internet service that I can get out here in the sticks of Eastern Oregon.

Easy to install but has a lot of problems
This is my first experience with mesh systems. It was purchased as part of a new home wifi system, replacing an existing Netgear system. The AX1800 router is installed in a home office, centrally located within the residence. One mesh unit is connected to the AX1800. The remaining 5 mesh units are installed in 5 different rooms. All units are within 20 to 30 feet of the primary unit. There are no more than 2 walls between any unit and the primary unit. All the mesh units display a green status light and and have never indicated anything other than a strong signal. The WiFi Extender (1200RPT) is installed in the garage, providing internet access for a standalone device. It also displays a strong signal. After one week of service, there are several problems that we have encountered. The main issue is random loss of connectivity between devices connected via the mesh system. During these episodes, the mesh units indicate a strong signal while the devices indicate no signal at all. This condition has occurred on devices connected via wifi as well as devices connected to the mesh units via cat 6 Ethernet cables. None of the Ethernet cables is longer than 4 feet. This connectivity issue has occurred at various times of the day, morning, afternoon, evening and late night. In most cases I’ve had to shut down and restart the router, primary mesh unit and in some cases the mesh unit providing connectivity to the device.Other issues include problems administering the system. The lack of a windows app that can access all the router, extender and all mesh units is a big problem. I find it hard to believe a manufacturer would not provide both phone and pc/laptop access. The inability to view a single screen that shows all connected devices and their status, is another problem. The user manual lacks any real technical information and is totally worthless when trying to resolve a problems.

Works as promised
The setup was easy using the WPS function. It takes a while to recognize and establish connection so be patient.Bought it to extend Asus RT-AC88 main router range. This extender is then reaching all the way to my detached garage which has another Asus RC-AC88 sitting in it. This second Wifi router works in Asus AiMesh mode and seamlessly extends the existing Wifi network at home. Time will tell how stable this connection is.Don't forget to try different locations for best effect. Wifi waves behave in weird ways creating "shadows" where you wouldn't expect them.UPDATE 05/18/2021Removed the device. It seems like it interferes with some of my wifi devices at home, notably, my iMac. Some active sessions like SSH seem to randomly disconnect. Knocking off one star for now... will test the device again later.

Started making static noise
I have had this for 4 years. It has worked well. But recently, I started hearing a noise in the hallway where this plugged in that kind of sounds like water running through pipes in the wall. Except, there are no pipes in the walls of that hallway. Upon further investigation, I determined it is coming from the WiFi extender. The noise has been getting louder and louder.
