Awesome little antenna!
I was amazed by how small the box was that it came in, I thought "what did I buy?!" It folds out to a properly sized 70cm antenna but this thing could easily pack down small enough to fit in your glovebox. The quality is very good but it does rattle quite a bit when it's in your vehicle folded up and riding around so pack it in something like an old sock to keep it quite. 9dbi gain? I don't doubt it. I'm able to receive signals that I can't with a center loaded whip and easily hit a repeater at over 30 miles away. I think il replace the bolt that holds the driven element though, seems likely the nut is going to vibrate loose. Also in my application I'll replace the mounting nuts with wing nuts, (I'll use this as a portable pole mount on my pickup or as a backpacker base, tree mount).

Solid little Antenna
I purchased this antenna for a backpackable type of collapsible Yagi antenna. It has a supposed 9DB gain and is meant for 70cm band, (Yagi with 5 segments) it separates into two halves. Each main beam half measures at 14.25". The reflector (longest) element is also 14". The collapsing elements are spring loaded, where you pull them down a hair then rotate into position. Sturdy construction. The 5W transmission SWR on the 70cm bands was between 1.02 and 1.25, so I was thrilled. I tested it on a variety Baofeng handhelds using GMRS simplex and was 5x5 at 16 miles range. I didn't purchase it for roof mounting in strong winds, but it appears that it could take it, no real experience there tho. That said, I personally would be reluctant to mount a collapsible element Yagi on a roof, I would likely spend some time on the roof having to fix it.I would definitely buy again.
