Effective cooling, attractive design
This stand has made an incredible difference to my work-from-home experience. I've been using a 15" Macbook Pro as my main work computer with a second monitor to help my workflow. I don't really do much heavy computing, but I've noticed my laptop likes to turn into a jet engine and get quite hot when sitting on my wooden desk. I also noticed my posture was absolutely abhorrent, being that I needed to look down to view my screen. I'm fairly tall, so looking all the way down at my desktop was putting a fair amount of strain on my neck over the workday.I purchased this stand to both improve the ergonomics of my workstation and improve the cooling capacity of my computer. This stand has delivered on both of those asks, plain and simple. I've been using it for a few days now and my computer has yet to go full jet-engine again, so the fan must be doing something right. It's fairly quiet and moves a decent amount of air, so I have no complaints about it. If the fan does ever fail at any point, it looks like it'd be super easy to replace with just four screws. That also means it'd be easy to reverse the flow of the fan if you so choose. I found no need to do so.The stand is plenty sturdy and seems to be well designed. Just about the whole thing is made out of aluminum, save the fan housing (although it does have a nearly identical finish - you wouldn't know it was plastic unless you touched it.). It's got rubber/silicone pads over the parts of the stand that come in contact with the computer, giving it a decent grip and preventing scratches on your device.I don't power the stand's fan via the computer's USB port. Instead, I've been using either a battery pack or plugging it directly into the wall with a USB brick. It does work if you plug it into the computer itself, but I like to reserve my USB ports for other connections I may need.I would not recommend using this stand without an external keyboard and mouse. I suppose you could if you really wanted to, but the stand will bounce as you're typing on it and will likely shift around. It holds the computer just fine, but it doesn't seem to be designed to support the weight of someone's arms on top of the computer. I feel that would nullify the ergonomic benefits of using a laptop stand as well, but to each their own I suppose. All in all, I would recommend this stand to anyone who uses their laptop as a desktop computer. If you're putting on long hours on the computer, do yourself a favor and get this stand. After all, haven't you earned it?

Good quality for the price
Enough to fit my 16 inch laptop properly, very strong and the fan is quiet enough (although noticeable). Can see the benefits of the cooling while gaming as it helps the laptop cool better.

Sturdy, stiff adjustment, fan blows down away.
I like this laptop stand for the money. I was impressed with the sturdy build for cheap money, and the fan is a plus for my gaming laptop. There's a debate I see about reinstalling the fan so it blows toward to laptop, not away. In my laptop, the fans vent down, so away is correct, the way it comes. I highly recommend this for the price, as it's well-made and stiff to adjust, so it's not going to flop around. I knocked one star off only because it's a fairly small laptop surface, and much smaller than the average 15" laptop. So, in my 16" gaming laptop that I use for GIS software, the rubber feet on my MSI don't sit in the small stand surface, and airflow would otherwise be impeded. An easy fix with little silicon numbs I inset for "feet", so the laptop rests level on the stand. It's quite stable, this highly adjustable stand, and I like that it actually goes high enough for achieving the "center of screen two inches below your horizontal gaze" proper ergonomics. Many do not, as far as I can see. Money well spent, and maybe additional cooling, though, so far, I do not need it in normal use. Under load with various software, it will be. Nevertheless, I'll still monitor my CPU and GPU temps.

Just a few understandable quirks
Quirks you should know:- I own a 6lb heavy 15" laptop and this holds it OK. I can see it working if you own a 17", but you'd have to adjust the resting angle to be very vertical for it not to be too top heavy, so your laptop lid would need to open more than a ~120° angle.- By default, the fan sucks air down instead of pushing it up. If your laptop cooling configuration is not compatible with this, you can flip the fan around by unscrewing 4 screws.- It uses a full size USB-A for fan power. The cable is short (about 1 foot) and comes out of the left side by default. You can change it to come out the right side by unscrewing the fan.- It doesn't have a locking mechanism, but relies in a very very tight hinge that can be adjusted to any angle. I see it could become a problem if you decided to open and close it often. But if you just set it on your desk and forget about it, I think it can last a very long time.- The fan is entirely silent. It moves as much air as you can blow with your mouth while not making any sound. It does not have any option to adjust speed.- The packaging is very minimal and doesn't come with any instructions. But that's good for me since I don't like waste.Besides that, product is sturdy and has some good weight. The design is minimal and beautiful. I give it 5 stars considering the price.

Really cool stand!
This fits my rather large HP Spectre360 laptop well. It is sturdy and looks nice. The pivots are very hard to adjust, which I like as I do not intend to move it up or down or tilt the angle-much better than if it were too loose. Fan works well, and since starting to use it, my laptop has stayed cool and the performance has not dropped as it had been doing when placed on my desk top.

Almost perfect
I tried out 4 laptop stands with cooling. This was the sturdiest, most adjustable for height and angle, and has 1 large rather than usually 4 smaller fans. My HP cn2099nr laptop has a 16.1 inch screen and this stand can handle the size and weight nicely and better than any of the others. My only concern is that I have not yet seen the fan come on. I exchanged the 1st one I got because of this but the new one is the same. Perhaps there is a heat sensor reading the laptops temp and turning on only above a certain temp. My laptop diagnostics show the laptop is (thankfully) cool so that may be the explanation. Instruction booklet doesn't mention a heat sensor.
