Upgrading my WLED setup
I bought this to replace a esp8286 board i had driving some LED light stips using the WLED software. My upgrade require 5 data lines out which the 8286 does not support (well) so this the logical choice. I have had no issues with it and i am very happy with the compact D1 form factor. Will probably buy more for future projects.

Very good
I am using the D1 Mini for ESPresense with Home Assistant and WLED projects. I bought 5 of this. Very easy to flash and set-up. Works well, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signal are very good.Recommended.

Love the ESP32
32 bit processor, with ultra-low power sleep mode.. tonnes of gpio pin functionality, WiFi, Bluetooth (+BLE).. tiny form factor.. what's not to like.

Crippled by cheap voltage regulator
As a beginner, I bought three of these devices, and found them OK for getting started with ESP programming, using Arduino sketches, Tasmota and ESPHome. They were easy to use for basic routines, and there are lots of handy multi-functional GPIO ports. However, as I did more advanced designs, I began to suffer random problems, and realised that the chips were suffering brownouts, when processor tasks draw too much power from the supply. For many other devices, this can be fixed by using a high quality power supply and cables, but it seems that for these boards, the culprit is the 4B2X voltage regulator on the board itself; this can only provide 150mA, no matter what power supply you plug it into. There was some variation between the 3 dev boards I purchased (what worked on one didn't always work on another), but I found that this made the AZDelivery D1 Mini ESP32 boards totally unusable for any work with Bluetooth (BLE). As Bluetooth is one of the key selling points of the ESP32 compared to the cheaper ESP8266 chips, this is pretty disappointing. There are potential workarounds involving adding capacitors or replacing the regulator chip, but only if you are very good at soldering!

Great kit as normal
I tend to buy a lot of stuff from AZDelivery and to be honest, haven't had a problem with anything from them, including this esp32. Great quality item as per normal.

All tested are rev 1 boards
All good. I asked a question about the revision for these boards, all seem to be rev 1.

Bad power managment, will constantly get 'brownout reboots' on any load
I bought a pack of 3 of these because I like the form factor, however they are just bad, I wanted to use them with I2s DAC/AMP, specifically Max98357, couple with ESPHome, however they just can't handle the load, and get brownouts. totally useless.perhaps they would be fine for low load applications, but if you want to do anything intensive avoid.
