My 2-yr old absolutely loves this game. She plays the game with us for hours. I bought 5-6 toddler/preschooler board games and no other games could ever have her engaged for that long. She gets confused about two aspects of the game though: 1) she may start looking for objects from a previous turn while undertaking the current Goldbug search; 2) reaching the island does not seem to be her goal of the game - she's too happy to share the food with the pigs.

Q: Does anyone know how many there are of each mystery item? Some Goldbug items we're able to find 10 (# of magnifying glasses), do they all have 10?

We've been wondering the same thing! My kids are convinced there are 10 of each item, even though we haven't been able to locate them all.

The cheapest solution is to visit a thrift store and buy a $2 copy of Yahtzee or any other game that has a sand timer.However, if the game was shipped and sold by Amazon, see if it's within your return window for a refund.

Q: What is the replay value of this game? Is it still fun after your kids know where to find everything?

My grandchildren love to play it over and over. Their parents like the game because the kids have to work together to finish the game.
