With the proper programmer, these key fobs can be programmed at home.
Requires special programming equipment that CAN be bought separately.I bought the https://a.co/d/2yqMLm2 Actel OBD2 advanced scanner/programmer. After updating the software to the current available software, it allowed me to successfully add additional key fobs to my 2013 Nissan Leaf.

Fantastic bargain
This is one of those 'seems to good to be true.' a 2015 Nissan Leaf key fob for +/- $25. I had a locksmith program it (he cut the key for free) and the thing works as well as the original. The only difference is the logo on the third button. The old one showed a cord icon and "Hold." This new one shows a trunk opening. But you hold it down and it opens the charger door, just like the original. Happy customer.

Works for Nissan Leaf
1. You need to have all the previous keys that you intend to keep using, and get the car programmed to recognize the new key. There is an expensive piece of hardware that's needed for the programming, so you'll most likely need to go somewhere (locksmith, dealership, Ace Hardware or similar) and have it done for you. Expect to pay $80+ for the service (though I've seen someone here get it free).2. The programming might not take the first time (mine needed three tries before it worked, the car was showing "iKey system fault" message).3. It does work. Buttons do what they are supposed to do, and proximity works too. Before you order, make sure your original key's FCC ID matches this key.

Not programmable.
Bought this for overnight shipping hoping to program my key as its been dead for a week now and it’d only work by touching the key fob directly to the push button start. Get in my car pull out my software. Nissan requires all keys get erased in memory prior to programming a new key so i did this went to next step to pair the key to the car and no matter how many times I repeated the process the car would not accept the new key. I thought i was straight out of luck but somehow my dead key fob was still able to be reprogrammed and not this product. Was very disappointed as i matched the part numbers and everything and it just wouldn’t pair. Save your buck and get a oem key online . Just got mine for $49 online and its the original nissan key.

Works for 2015 Nissan Leaf.
Works with 2015 Nissan Leaf. Please make sure to match the FCC code from the original key fob to program. Have a professional locksmith program and cut the key to match original Key fob. Comes with new button battery. No problems in unlocking and driving Nissan Leaf. The buttons work just like the original key fob.

Replacement FOB for 2013 Nissan Leaf
My wife and I switch vehicles during the week as we run our kids to their activities. We lost our primary key FOB and have been using our spare.I purchased this FOB to replace our 2d FOB. Matched the FCC ID when shopping online. Paid a locksmith $60 to program and it works just fine. All buttons work including the button that unlocks the charging door.Saved a bundle because the Nissan dealer wanted just under $400 for a replacement and programming.
