RemovuRM-M1+A1 Wireless Microphone and Receiver for GoPro Hero4, Hero3+ & Hero3

Exactly what I was looking for!!! I know this product was meant for GoPro, but I found another use for this that I hope would help other people out there. I was looking for a waterproof bluetooth microphone that can connect to a portable speaker for baptism in the pool or lake. I've been searching for a long time, and all I found were devices used by aquatic trainers that cost about $1,500 - $3,000. I came across Removu M1+A1 and decided to give it a try. I don't have a GoPro, so the A1 piece (receiver/slave) is of no use to me. I only need the M1 (microphone) for my purpose. I was successful in pairing the M1 with my bluetooth portable speakers (Braven BRV-PRO Braven BRV-Pro Portable Bluetooth Speaker and Black Solar Panel Bundle and QFX PBX-3080BT Portable Battery Powered Bluetooth PA Speaker). Pairing was automatic. All I had to do was put both devices in paring mode. The whole process only took a few seconds. I read one review on the M1+A1 claiming short battery life (about 20 minutes).. I tested this myself for over 2 hours, and it was still going. This product works great!!!

I purchased this for some vlogging and kayak fishing videos and I must see it has actually performed better than I expected. It is totally waterproof, it fits very well inside my extended waterproof housing and it doesn't use the Go Pro for a battery source. The device does take a minute for the initial pairing but connects immediately after that. The battery life surprised me, I could not find that info from other reviews, but mine lasted me over 6 hours on one charge with the sound amplification turned on. Just so you know the sound amplification is great when the mic is in the housing, it really did make the audio quality much better than the internal go pro mic and only slightly down from the mic without the waterproof housing. This is a viable alternative to expensive mics and things that are not waterproof. The sound quality makes GoPro footage a lot more enjoyable!*Update*After 3 months of consistent use the adapter strip has failed twice. Which is a design flaw. No other good explanation for it.The mic is also out of sync with the camera alot. The mic lags a second or more behind the camera.

I'll have to edit the review once I'm actually able to use the product. It looks like I'm not the only one to receive a boxed product that didn't include the A1 USB connector. How do you not include an absolutely essential part in the box?Bright side: I got to speak with a human almost immediately (I left my number and got a call back within 10 minutes), who said he would be getting an A1 USB connector out to me.Giving it one star for now because it's inoperable and Amazon forces you to put a star rating. I'll update it once I can play around with it.---------UPDATE: They sent me the connector and everything hooked up perfectly. I haven't had a chance to really put it to extensive use, but it picked up audio through walls and the audio didn't rustle as bad as some others have stated. Does its job.

So far so good. I bought this to use when skiing. In those conditions I generally have the case on the camera, and therefore none of my videos have audio. Likewise in the summer on the boat. I haven't used this in either environment to this point, but have tested around the house, and the wireless is good as is the audio in that environment. It came with a foam wind cover, so hopefully that will help alleviate outdoor conditions that skiing may bring. I will be able to use this in other capacities as well. I have not tested the battery lift while using the mic, so that may change the review, but more frequent battery changes are expected. Installation/set-up is easy.

I will change this if my replacement is ok. Received a brand new unit with no camera connector making this useless. I can see if it was used, but it was brand newUpdate: I received my replacement and all parts were there. Easy to hook up, but it literally picks up every little noise. I used the clip and attached to my shirt, jacket, belt, etc but the audio is just a bunch of rubbing noise that the device has picked up. Even if I slowly walk, the rubbing noise from clothes etc make it unusable. I verified that it was not in amplification mode, so I don't get why it is so bad!!! Why would a device that is meant to be used with GoPro's pick up the extra noise?

You'll still need to do some post editing to get great sounding audio, but it does pick up very clearly and is very easy to use. The mic is pretty big and clunky. Unfortunately, you can't do anything with it if you have a post Hero 4 cam... Thanks for that GoPro... Make sure to buy the extended back door for your housing. It won't fit in standard size housing. We don't do any vlogs or anything, we just use it to pick up our kids audio on trips since the camera alone doesn't capture audio well.Update:After a few months of use, the connector cable has worn out causing terrible noise in the audio or sometimes not recording audio at all. At least I am assuming it is the connector... The connector does not fit well into the GoPro housing so when you close the housing, it crushes the connector a little more each use. Thats with the extended bacpac door. Its not a great design. I would go with a wired mic but the bluetooth is important for use with kids as they don't stand still.

I just got this today and I thought I was just getting more scrap for the pile. I'm super shocked to see this thing works great. I moved about 15 to 20 feet from the camera and the sound was dead on. No hollow echo, the sound is right in the middle of the video. Well worth the price. I'm gonna but another one just encase this one plays out. The build quality is light weight plastic but durable under careful handling. I would be careful not to drop it because I don't believe either piece would servive. All in all its a very good buy.
