Nice tires, great traction for my snowblower, challenging to mount.
I bought 3 of the 13/4-6 tires for my snowblower, plus a spare wheel elsewhere. Mounting these to the wheels was a challenge with hand bars, I tried without soap and tore one of the nylon bead bundles, then I mounted the next two with soap and no trouble. So, I'm buying again.. #4 to replace the one I wrecked, to have something to put on my incoming spare wheel.I definitely prefer the X-Trac profile over the basic turf-saver type diamond tread the machine had before.

Well worth the money
I have an older 13.5 hp Sears mid engine rider that I bought used but in excellent condition. Similar to the picture of the red modern version. I love it. But my new house comes with a couple of hills and this type of mower is definitely not the right one for hills as it loses traction easily. But it has typical turf tires and they are little worn since it’s older. So after I waited for a dry spell I tested the hp of the engine on a steep incline where I could back if I got stuck. It climbed it with ease but struggled with traction. So I gambled that these tires would make a difference. And man It’s a little billy goat now. It’s a mini ATV that cuts grass. Now the cons. It does arrive strapped together which deforms the tires to the point it looks unusable. I added 5” wood blocks between the beads on each tire and left them in the sun just like a previous suggestion. It worked. I unmounted the old tires and was able to get the tires off ok. But I gave up mounting these new ones, just too stiff as they are heavy duty. Took the rims and tires to an ATV retailer with a mini tire changer and they mounted them for $20. The regular tire store didnt seem interested.

What I needed.
These tires were delivered promptly and in good condition. They must have changed shipping procedure as my two tires were not compressed at all. They still took some work to mount as most small tires can be stiff and cranky. My yard is not normal mowing terrain, many times my original turf tires on my John Deere x570 would slide in downhill turns causing angst and increased heart rate. These tires are a great improvement. One of these did suffer a puncture in the sidewall which is a bummer but I do mow some gnarly areas that include thorn covered over growth. A plug in the sidewall of a brand new tire is not what I like to see but it’s up and running fine. Over all I’m happy with the product.Update; 08/29/23Just a note to x570 owners. When making extreme left turns the lugs will catch on the steering tie rod. I popped the ball out of the tie rod end on one such occasion. Still a better tire than the original turf tires for my situation.

Replaced the same tired and bead would not set no matter what.
Replaced the same tired and bead would not set no matter what. I do small engine repair and typically I use a tube but the original tire was very dry rotted so I installed this new tire. Arrived with the inner bead warped. Tried to relax it with some heat. Didn’t do anything. Once installed in rim it would not seat. Tried all the tricks. Had to use a tube and it still would not set the bead correctly ever when I went to 50psi. You can see how uneven it is in the pics. Not sure if this was a defective one but I expected more. We are getting 4-8” of snow tonight so I can’t mess around with sending it back. I would not buy this again.

Perfect replacement tires for my Ariens ST824 snowblower
This review is for the Carlisle X Trac ATV Bias Tire - 4.80-8 2 tires: I purchased these to replace the original 30-ish year old tires on an Ariens ST824 snow blower that I inherited from a family member. Must say I'm very happy with them, they fit perfectly and work great. The quality and build seems very good. I've had them on for about a month and have used the snowblower following two pretty good snowfalls and so far I'm very happy. The local Ariens dealer wanted $200 just for a pair of factory tires, not including install. Seemed like this was a "go away" quote as they were not overly helpful in general. So I decided to give it a shot and do it myself. After few beers and about 847 YouTube videos I went to work. I will say it was quite a chore but this had nothing to do with the tires - it was purely my inexperience and lack of proper tools. After wrestling with them for a couple hours, I just could not get the beads set so I opted to put tubes in. That took all of 20 minutes and it worked like a charm. Wiped a little soapy water on the rims and the beads slid into right place as they aired up.Great tires at a great price.

Great tire!!!....but a total Bear to install....come ready to work
So my wife ordered 2 of these as replacements for our JD trailer. Great tire but too much tire for what we needed. We had tube tires and this can be used tubeless as it.was an extremely tight fit. I got them both on but it took 2 people and I nearly broke down and went and had them put on. Even watched a video in case I turned stupid and didn't remember how to change a tire. Not the case....its a very rigid tire and it was even difficult to I set the tube into the rim once it was half on. I even considered going to my local Har. FRT and bought a small tire changer for 40bucks. But in the end it just took elbow grease along with real grease(vaseline) 2 screwdrivers and a piece of 18" long 3/4 × 3/16 bar stock to spin around the inside of the rim to force the bead on. Be ready to work!!! But the tire overall is very well made and in the end I'm glad I toughed it out because I don't think I will ever have to replace these things . Hope this helps your decision.

Great traction, easy install
I upgraded from an old set of Carlisle ag style tires on my brush cutter to these. What a great improvement. The only thing that will hold it back now are immovable objects. Now when that happens you have to let off or you're digging serious ruts. Very happy with the traction.Install for both tires with new tubes was about a half hour. I am a tire noob and it was a breeze with soapy water and a pry bar.
