I like them
Seals well, very easy to clean. Not a bad value for what you get. Capacity is less than you thick due to the mechanism on the bottom of the lid.

EXCELLENT vacuum storage containers - wish they came in more sizes
It is SUPER hard to find vacuum cannisters designed to work with my Avid Armor Vacuum Chamber machine, so I was really pleased to find these. My experience with them thus far has been perfect - they work extremely well, they're reliable, durable, and easy to clean. Vacuum-seal containers are a natural extension for use with an Avid Armor vacuum chamber machine, and these are - in my opinion - really excellent.I noticed a commenter on the Avid Armor site who said he used them for marinating. I would LOVE to use these for marinating, but I haven't used them long enough to be confident they can withstand the kind of pressures marinating would put on these containers. I'm working towards that goal, but want to go slowly and carefully so I'm confident I'm not going to implode a cannister. For straight vacuum sealing, however, I'm really pleased with the three sizes available now, but I DO wish there were additional options - for example, a tall, deep container isn't the best configuration for marinating - a flat, shallow dish would be far superior for that purpose. Tall containers are great for storing ground coffee, or grated cheese, or even fruits/vegetables that tend to go bad very quickly once they reach their ripe stage (avocados, for example). To be really useful for marinating, though, a much better configuration would be a container shaped more like a casserole dish - flat and shallow - to more easily cover the meat with the marinade. Understand - the Avid Armor USV20 is the budget machine from this company (if you can call $400 "budget"), but it is the only one of their consumer-line vacuum chamber machines that can utilize external vacuum sealed canisters - the very popular USV32 (the next size up) cannot. The USV20 is small - meant more for single serving sizes in the internal chamber, and isn't really sized to do serious marinating in the internal chamber. That's why it would be SO cool to be able to use an external vacuum seal cannister to handle a task like marinating. In addition to a wishing for a container shaped to better handle marinades, I'd also like to see a slightly longer tube. While the provided tube is JUST long enough for use with the vertical cannisters. It most assuredly wouldn't be long enough for a dish in any other configuration. That being said, however, the provided tube works extremely well with the vertical containers. So, to summarize - the three containers and hose you get are WELL worth the cost - they're a perfect match for the Avid Armor Ultra USV 20 Vacuum chamber machine, and will handle nearly everything you can throw at them for vacuum storage. I don't know that they're capable of withstanding the higher, prolonged pressures needed for marinating; I've seen one person who claims they're doing just that with these cannisters, but they are, after all, polycarbonate, and they do have finite pressure limits. I am personally hesitant to use the vertical canisters for that purpose until I've got more time with them.I feel strongly the line would benefit from an external container designed with marinating in mind - stronger walls, able to handle higher, prolonged pressure, and shaped in a flat, shallow manner to facilitate marinating with the USV20 vacuum chamber. These three canisters, however, are a great product; I store my ground coffee beans in one, and have stored grated cheddar cheese far longer than I could in a zip-lock type bag. I've also stored guacamole for a week in one and had NO discoloration - something just not possible when storing guacamole in any other type of container. I HIGHLY recommend these storage containers if you have a vacuum sealer that can accommodate the connection size of the hose.

Good product
Was not compatible with my food saver system. Don't know why, since it indicates differently, but quality item nonetheless.

Amazing for keeping food fresh!!
The media could not be loaded. These canisters, when sealed with the Avid Armor USV20 are amazing! They extend the viability and quality of the foods I buy, so we can enjoy them longer until we have eaten all of them, and not end up throwing away food that deteriorated in plastic bags or snap lid containers in the refrig. They keep bread fresh and mold-free without refrigerating it; they keep washed lettuce leaves fresh and peeled avocados fresh and free from browning; whole or sliced strawberries stay fresh and free from deteriorating; deli meats stay fresh and free from becoming slimy; shredded cheese stays fresh without molding; leftovers and precooked meat stay fresh all because the air is removed with vacuum sealing the canisters. They are easy to seal, and open and reseal. They definitely extend the life of my perishable foods and that translates into saving money, as I’m not throwing away food before my family can eat it. They make it easy to keep track of the food & leftovers in my refrig because they are clear. They do not stack one on top of the other as their lids are slightly dome shaped. But their various sizes make it easy to keep the small ones in the crisper drawers, medium and large ones on the shelves of the refrig. So far, I have bought 4 sets of the canisters and am using all of them! They are very well made. I accidentally dropped one on the tile floor and it did not crack or break. I wash & dry them by hand to avoid the extremely high temp water and harsh detergent of my dishwasher. They save me a lot money and landfill waste as I’m no longer using & disposing of tons of ziplock bags while unsuccessfully attempting to save foods, as I was before I discovered the Avid Armor USV20 and these canisters. They are a game changer!! I definitely recommend them.

Nice Containers
I gave these 5 stars as they are made well. I have had dehydrated apples and stored them in one of the containers for weeks. They aren't as crispy as they were the first few weeks. But close to what they were when I put them in. When you keep opening the container you do expose them to the air and moisture which does affect their condition. I remove the air immediately from the container when I take what I want. If you want them to stay crispy like they were just dehydrated, then after the 1st or 2nd time of opening the container you would need to put them back in the dehydrator to get some of the moisture out of them. Never had a problem with any of the lids, but I do agree with others, that the lids will come off really easy if you haven't removed the air from the container, which makes it difficult when you are grabbing them to use them, and with most things you grab by the top and the lid comes flying off. Think they could figure out a way for them to sit on top without falling off, but still be able to seal them tightly.

8 months in ....
The construction of the lid is such that you can not open the valve to clean it out, unlike other containers I have had in the past. It's hard to recommend a product that can't be cleaned properly. I used these containers to marinate meats and poultry before grilling or smoking. I've had them for 8 months, and they all stopped holding a vacuum.

Game changer if you have the vacuum sealer
I've experimented with hand-pump vacuum canisters over the years to keep shelf goods fresher for longer. They always worked ok. These canisters for the Avid sealer work perfectly. Easy to use -- gets all the air out and sealers the canister in a few seconds. The big one can fit a regular-size box of cereal. I wish there was an even bigger one for potato chips.I wouldn't buy an Avid sealer just to be able to use these canisters, but if you have the sealer anyway these are a fantastic pickup for not that much money.
