Mine came with batteries a few years ago.

The LED colors are 1 Blue, 1 Jade, 1 Red. The following settings are a combination of the 3 LED colors making a red/blue, jade/blue, red/jade and blue/jade/red.

Q: Do the fiber optic strands flash? Or slow steady color change only?

They change colors slowly and steadily. You can also set them to stay a constant color or colors, and then they do not flash, fade, or change in any other way.

Q: Can you set a green light option only?

Yes, you can set it to a green steady light function. There are 7 steady light functions: Just Green, Just Red, Just Blue, Green + Red, Blue + Red, Green + Blue, and Green + Blue + Red.
