Q: I have a 27lb maincoon who has lots of mats, I'm looking for something to groom with with that has blades instead of shaving him. Wil this work?

Not sure but it really works great on my Lhatese's ears which get snarls (she's part Maltese and part Lhasa). It's a small investment to try. It's an amazing tool.

It can be for left or right handed person you can turn the blades around

Q: Has anyone used this on a Havenese with good results?

I know that this does not answer your actual question about Havenese. I have a Bouvier who has very fine long hair and it works great! I have also used it on my cat and it works great on him too. I don't see how it could not work on any dog. I LOVE it! Good luck!

Q: I have another one i bought on amazon and the blades are not sharp. it just works like a comb but looks just like this. are the blades really sharp?

I don’t have anything to compare it too but I really like this comb it does cut the knots out of my Maltese’s hair very easily I hope this helps
