Get rich slow
Good nuts and bolts strategy for the long term. Not a motivational book- but it can help motivate you to get going. A lot of specifics here that run contrary to a lot of the authors b.s. today on getting rich next week.I read three dozen books on rental property to date and Jay De Cima is the most realistic author I've found. (And we've never met) We've bought and sold our rental properties and are now ready to get back into it.It's cheap. Buy it!This book is a very good primer on how to start.

A Great Book
This is a great book that will pay for itself! I do not see why people are complaining that this not a flipper book - because it's obviously not a flipper book in any way! The title clearly says Investing in Fixer-Uppers : A Complete Guide to Buying Low, Fixing Smart, Adding Value, and Selling (or Renting) High. It does not say buy a piece of trash, paint, and sell it to the next gullible sucker. (i.e. the mentality of most get-rich-quick flippers nowadays.) This is a buy and hold for huge profits book. If you want a flipper book, then search for flipper books. If you want to retire one day soon (or at least know you can!), then stop watching the Flip This House TV shows with grossly inflated profit margins, and buy this book! Don't believe everything you see on TV.

Great advise, clear solid advise for rental income
Great book!! Jay is straightforward and to the point, offering solid detailed how to advise with case scenarios that he actually did. This book is almost strictly on buying to fix up and RENT. Don't get this if you're looking for a quick house flip (its not about that, so disregard negative reviews that criticize this). He emphasizes cash flow for his method which is why he centers on rentals for the best investment

How much would you pay for a good tip?
For the most part I find book reveiws helpful. But I wonder about those by who expect to get the whole nine and a half yards for $12.98. If I can get one tip that may help me make thounsands $$ (and it has) for the price of a Subway lunch, then I'm ordering up. A guide to Investing in Fixer-Uppers, $12.98; Investing in yourself, priceless.

Valuable information for improving your properties and the quality of your tenants
I thought Jay did a good job of explaining the art of improving your properties and your tenants. It's a natural fit when you begin to upgrade your real estate, the poorer quality tenants will weed themselves out and will be replaced by tenants who will take care of the property and pay on time. I would have liked to seen more details on making simple improvements that always pay off. Easy to read, easy to follow.

The Secon Book of His I've Read
I first read "Start Small, Profit Big," and liked his perspective on owner-financing. In this one, he gets more specific, and discusses an actual plan. This is one of the top books I'd recommend for investors.
