This deck really grew on me!
Oh, how I love this deck. I watched some very positive reviews of it on youtube, yet I avoided purchasing it because it looked too pink and saccharine for my tastes. However, it grew on me, and kept beckoning to me, and so I followed my inner guidance and ordered it.I am so happy I did. While it IS a very positive, sweet deck, it nevertheless really does convey the traditional meanings of the cards, albeit in a gentle way. Sometimes that's needed. My daughter, for example, wanted a tarot reading but even the gentlest of my other decks (for example, the Anna K deck or the Oceanic deck) inevitably had at least one or more images that she found either scary or too mature.Adults sometimes have need of a gentler deck as well. We want the truth, we want our blind spots revealed to us so we can work on them, but we might not be in an emotional place where we can "take" a confrontational reading. I know this is true of me at times and sometimes I've avoided doing a reading for myself as a result; I was not emotionally strong enough to face whatever might come up.With the Guardian Angel Tarot, I find the information comes through quite clearly, but in a very gentle way, giving as positive a spin as possible. And isn't that the purpose of Tarot-- to help us transform our lives in a positive direction? If occasionally the message on the card seems superficial at first glance, I find meditating on the card or cards I have chosen reveals increasingly deeper meanings. The little guidebook adds additional insights to the cards as well.Yes, there are messages printed right on the cards. And they do contain the core of the traditional meanings. At first I wasn't sure I liked the messages being on there, but I no longer find them limiting, more like springboards for my own insights, or conversations with a client. Because of the messages, I find it difficult to do readings with more than a few cards with this deck, but my style has been evolving that way lately anyway and I rarely do complicated, multi-card spreads. The major arcana are numbered, so while they have different names, you can easily correlate them with the traditional names. The suits and court cards are renamed as well, but again, it's fairly easily to "translate" them into the traditional names. The artwork is just beautiful. And the cards are printed on impressively thick card stock with gold edges. They are a bit large. I love the box! So many boxes that Tarot cards come in are just a waste and have to be jettisoned, whereas this box is sturdy and elegant enough to use as permanent storage for the cards. I love the bit of glitter on the box.You can just sense that this deck was made with love. It's like the gentle voice of your best friend, mother, grandmother, or other wise guide. Great deck!

Lovely sweet deck!
I have a lot of tarot decks. There are times when I just want something that's super-gentle, with no icky surprises in my readings. This deck is the gentlest and sweetest of Doreen Virtue's & Radleigh Valentine's decks yet. It is surprisingly accurate too! There is not one scary, upsetting card in this deck. You could let your children play with these cards, if you wanted.Even though the traditional names are changed on the cards, plus the suits are renamed (Wands=Action, Cups=Emotion, Swords=Thought, Pentacles=Abundance), if you know tarot, you'll see that these cards still give you the same meanings you've been using all along with other decks, but without having to do the "translating" in your head. Such as, "Oh no, that scary Death card really means the end of one phase of your life, let go and move on." In this deck, it's *called* "Letting Go".The pictures are lovely and soothing. If you like to draw a card before bedtime, don't worry about The Devil popping out. It'll be "Choose Freedom". Because really, The Devil is about temptation and bondage. I actually did have The Devil come out during a bedtime supposedly-comforting spread for myself some months ago. I was using the Morgan-Greer deck, and *that* Devil card is in-your-face scary. Good thing I was in a good place and could do the necessary interpretation! If you like pretty Victorian artwork and shabby-chic style, with gentle but accurate meanings, this deck is for you! The cards have gold edging and come in a sturdy box. The cards are large, oracle-card size and are of a thick card stock. If you have any of Doreen's other decks, you should be able to get used to this deck quickly. Also included is a nice thick guidebook of meanings and spreads. The only thing that might be a slight drawback (and one that doesn't bother me, but my husband mentioned it) is that the artwork doesn't fill the card: it's at the top half, with the meaning of the card at the bottom. Not a problem for me. I love this deck!

A gentle deck with powerful answers
This deck is soft and gentle. The cards themselves and the art are soft and gentle to the hands and eyes. Perfect for a hurting heart. But don’t underestimate its strength. The readings I get are alway dead on.Also, how cool is it to have a deck that works with one’s guardian angels! The angels that are always with us throughout our entire lives!! There to help and guard and comfort. Wow! Ask them to watch over your shuffle and arrange the cards to their best outcome for you to get the guidance you need. And throw those babies and see what they have to say!
