Not very sturdy but still does the job well
It's a lot less sturdy than I thought it would be, and by that I don't mean that it's flimsy and will fall apart, I mean that the brackets themselves have some back and forth play in them, so it will not be dead still after it's installed, it can jiggle and wobble, however it does do the job and can hold weight pretty well - I can comfortably rest my arms on it while typing and using a mouse (I'm 215lbs), and I rest them on the EDGE, no less, which of course applies even more torque, so the fact that it holds is impressive, but I wouldn't apply much more weight than that.Assembly is slightly a pain - you have to line up small holes and then get the screws in there between all the metal which kind of gets in the way of you screwing it in, but that's all there is to it. There are 4 marked holes and 2 unmarked holes, but they included 9 screws for some reason. I did use all 6 available holes (including unmarked ones) which was tricky but will help keep it more stable.Installation is a piece of cake - just clamps you have to screw in and that's it. I did notice it was sloping a bit too much INTO the desk, so I had to loosen the clamps, push it to slope more towards the outside, and then clamp it down again. It didn't change the slope too much, but enough so it wouldn't be bothersome to me.Last thing I will say is while I appreciate that it can fold out of the way, the extension kind of stays in the way so you can't put your fee under the desk when it's folded down, so the only use I can see for it is if your desk is near a path you need to use and the extension kind of blocks it. I feel like what they could have done instead which would have been more useful to most people is allow us to change the slope to different levels rather than just having 2 settings of up and folded.Overall, this product made it much more comfortable for me to work at my shallow desk - could it have been better? Yes, but it does the job very well and I'm much happier with it than without it.

Awesine. Easy to install and works as advertised
Easy to install, works great! I wanted to extend my mouse past the front of m y new standing desk so that I didn't have to reach so much for it. It works perfectly, folds out of the way and is extremely stable! I got the smaller one that is only about 5 or 6 inches wide and about 11.5 inches long. Just the right size. Attaches so it is flush with the desktop.

Does the job
Using it to hold a small MIDI controller. Solid enough for what I use it for but don’t use it for any serious weight. Arms can rest on it ok if not leaning in to it too much. Good enough for what I need it for. Super easy to put together, but I’d advise the mfr to set up for 8 screws so it’s super sturdy. The clamps and mechanism are very good so if the shelf attached more securely, this thing would be a rock. So, I recommend it for light duty. Computer or music keyboard and such.

a great fit and functional
I have a 40 inch wide standing desk in the home and in the office. Therefore I bought the shelf which is 75 cm wide ( 29.5 inches(). . My laptop needed another 2 inches when opened, so this 9.5 inch extender does the trick. The shelf will allow me to put some papers on the lower shelf and make working on the computer much easier. The four screws that had to be put in the base to hold the bracker took me about 5 minutes to screw in. I could have done it faster but used a drill to make the holes at first so it wouldnt crack as I was screwing in the holes. Really easy. A good buy if you have the need !

Requires assembly. Very sturdy.
You will need a Philips screw driver to assemble the desk extender, but it comes with cotton gloves for protection, and pilot holes marks where the metal arms attach to the wooden piece. Attaching the extender to the desk is easy. I also really like the mechanism for folding the desk down. Everything about this product works great, and is very sturdy.

No screw holes for installation
Screw holes did not come installed the first or second time that this product was ordered. Won’t be a third time…

Tiny screws are very difficult to put in
The hinges are good and moves from right angles and vice versa, very easily and once in place remain firmly locked in place. The wooden extender is also far better in quality than I expected. The design flaw for home installment are the tiny screws that are meant to connect the hinge to the wooden extender. They are really small and goes into the wood for only a little distance. Also the holes in the wood to receive the screws are just shallow holes drilled into the bottom part of the wood. Only time will tell, how long the screws will remain in place with repeated straightening and retraction of the hinges. Who knows, the screws may be specially designed to dig into the wood and remain locked in place. The problem with putting in those screws are the metallic side bars of the hinge that come in the way after you align the holes in the hinge with the holes in the wood to insert the screws. The path way is narrow and deep, and so you cannot use your fingers to hold the screws in place while you screw it in. Even using pincers does work because the screws are so small. You would need a magnetic screw head and a power drill to screw them in. As mentioned elsewhere, there are 3 holes in each hinge, but only 2 holes (per hinge) in the wood. So it may be an idea to drill in the 3rd screw into the wood, even without a screw hole, just to provide additional stability. But the 3rd hole in in the hinge is even harder to reach than the other two.My recommendation to the manufacturer is either make the screwing in process much easier, or send the extender with the hinge attached
