Brushed Steel: simplehuman 45L Sensor Semi-Round Bin, Brushed Steel

I bought this on a whim for our new house. We previously had one with the foot pedal that opened it up. I like this one way more. The first one we ordered was faulty and did absolutely nothing once out the box but good ole amazon had a replacement to me the next day and it works perfectly. The only gripe we have is how easily it tips over when it’s empty ie. When you need to change the bag. Both my husband and I have both had it topple right over with almost no provocation while we were changing the bag. Other than that it has a handy spot in the back that keep the pack of replacement bags which I think is awesome. No more hunting around. Just take out the full bag and immediately replace. It’s also moderately sensitive which means you aren’t waiting a million years for it to open and it stays open until you are done. All In all a purchase I am well satisfied with and can recommend to anyone else thinking of getting it. It’s pricey but built to last and convenient.

I'm in love with my bin. I previously owned a 'nine star's automatic sensor bin, which was difficult to empty because it was huge and it got very grubby as it would close mid way through me scraping food/ stuff into it. Stupidly the battery compartment was on the inside of the front of the lid of the bin where all the nasty grime would collect. This bin however is perfect. It's a lovely size so it's not too cumbersome to empty. The lid stays open as long as it senses there is something there, the battery compartment is in a sensible place, but best of all is the little refil slot to hold the bags! You empty it and then just pull a new bag from the back. It's genius. Absolutely worth the money especially when you think how long you're going to keep your kitchen bin.

I was hesitant for a while choosing between so many choices for sensor bin. At first the simplehuman bin seemed a bit pricy but when it arrived all my doubts disappeared. The bin is so stylish, with high quality to all details and most importantly to me- works flawlessly and almost unnoticed. With its 45l you don't have to run every single day to dispose the garbage and the lid closes so tightly that no odor is noticeable np matter what's inside. simplehuman- you made a great product indeed!

I ordered this to replace an old stander type bin, its very good because when your hands are dirty you don’t have to open the lid it dos it for you and the batteries last for about 3 months depending on how often you use it of cause.

Only had for a week, but very happy with the quality, look and sensor lid operation. Had a cheaper brand 50L sensor bin before. This is in a different league. Although its only 45L, because of its design you can compact the rubbish down more so needs emptying less. Also taking a full bin liner out is a piece of cake compared to previous bins.
