Bought for a very specific purpose, which is pitting cherry plums. It does a really good job with these tiny plums but wouldn’t cope with anything bigger. Occasionally it will push through and miss the stone (I’m doing hundreds at a go and sometimes don’t line one up right) but that’s user error. Much, much quicker than halving the fruit and pulling the stone. Although most of it is plastic, it’s plenty strong enough and feels like it will last many seasons.

Watching my wife use this cherry stone remover is a pleasure. Unlike me, who puts a cherry in my mouth and carefully chews to spit the stone out, she removes the stone before eating politely! It is comfortable to grip and effective. Although I normally do the washing-up—I enjoy doing so—it is always easy to clean, or else I would be asked to take over. I looked for it the other day in the hope of experiencing using it myself but couldn't find it, so I guess my wife has hidden it somewhere to prevent me from taking it and her never seeing it again.
