I intend to read the whole collection...
I loved the characters and how they interacted with each other. Easy to read and entertaining. Fantastic story. Emotional at times which is essential for me in a book. I finished book 1 a few moments ago, and my first action was to buy book 2. Oh, I have to know what's going to happen next. Magic! I adored Camu!

Great start to series
Book one great read, sadly I started reading The path of dragons series first (still releasing books) loved the series you follow Nahia in another world but they travel to lasgols world, I noticed lasgol has a series of his own (best to read this one first because Egil and Lasgols future will be seen there)I really enjoyed Lasgols journey heart Breaking to read but full of hope, but I could not get other series out of my head and remembering his future but that's my thought. In other series Nahia don't speak the same language so we don't get to know to much about Lasgol because they do hand signals about someone they both know plus well evil dragons talk.So this series you really get to know him.

Gripping tail for all to enjoy
Great story, the charactors just come to life through the telling of the adventure. A good read for anyone old or young, get ready to go through the whole series. Also comes as audio book, read by John Banks

Complex world, plots & characters. No good/ bad
I really enjoyed this book and immediately bought the rest of the series. There is a fairly large group of very varied characters rather than a small group it is clear that plots in different timelines are coming to fruition and the world itself is complex. Not quite up there with Kurtz and her Dhryni, Mercedes Lackey and her Heralds etc and Andre Norton with her Witch WorldBut it is the first book I have read by this author and I have high hopes. They have even made a totally new type of academy setting and set of priorities work incredibly well with a large group of protagonists who are not just good and evil.

A fantasy adventure of courage and friendship
Lasgol is the son of a Traitor, who tried to kill his friend the King. Lasgol's father was a Ranger, a member of an impressive group of fighters who use various skills to serve and protect the king. When Lasgol is invited to join the Rangers as the son of a Ranger, he agrees. He is determined to clear his father's name. When he joins the training camp, he finds that he is placed in a team of six trainees. The story is on how they grow closer through working together to solve various challenges. There is heart and goodwill in the journey of these friends . I enjoyed reading about the growth of their friendship. This is an exciting novel of youthful challenges and triumphs.

totally gripping
Although the the actual dialogue is a little stilted at times, the storyline and the characters are fantastic and I just couldn’t stop reading.

Worth a read
It's a good series and reminds me of another ranger book series but with magic. Like other reviews say, the story and plot are there. But the character have no development throughout the series and everything feels hollow. I've also noticed after reading one book after the other, that lot of information is repeated. I know because of time between books you need to recap. The author does this by having the characters ask questions. They already know the answers to from the previous books. It feels like the author went a long time between writing chapters then forgot some details. An example, in the later books they move out of the Team Cabin into the Ranger Barrack, then next chapter there back in the cabin. Which is impossible because it only for Contenders and not Full Rangers. There so many little plot holes. If it had a good editor and author spent more time make the character more realistic. Instead of something out of a teenage anime, it would have been amazing.
