Quick and easy installation
The fan motor in my AC condenser unit went belly up and this appeared to be a pretty close match for a 17 year old GE model #5KCP39FF AB35 or #HC37GE228A. The only difference was the amperage rating on the original motor was 1.2A and 810RPM but after doing some research it sounds like these differences are negligible. I also had to replace the original 45/5 capacitor with a new 45/7.5 capacitor. I was able to get this new motor and a capacitor delivered overnight which saved some suffering. Installation was a breeze and took less than an hour. Operation is much quieter than the original motor. Fingers crossed this thing will continue to work for many years to come.

First, the Packard A/C condenser motor is the perfect replacement. The fan shaft was NOT too short. The cable length was more than adequate and the same gauge. Background: I’m not a “fix-it” type. I just had my Carrier A/C system checked out. Why? It hadn’t been serviced for years and I thought a little preventative maintenance (PM) shouldn’t hurt. The folks that installed my system 20 years ago came out and performed an A/C maintenance check for roughly $110. The system ran great! That afternoon, the A/C failed. I called the folks back and they sent the same tech with an assistant back immediately. Great service! Wait, so much for PM. That service call would amount to 8 units of freon including a special die to fix/rule out leaks at $850. To be fair, both techs said the freon would most likely leak again and I might be just throwing good money into an aged unit. The techs added my 20 year old Carrier most likely will continue to limp along. Why? A/C systems are designed to last 10 years. (Remember, my system had run perfectly for 20 years. It doesn’t end there.) I bit the bullet and they installed the freon. The following day the condenser fan started screeching. It was the loudest noise ever. Scared the “####” out of me. Turns out replacing the fan motor would cost big $$$$. I went on line and there were others that had A/C condenser fan issues. I selected the Packard, 45210 Condenser Fan Motor Replacement for Carrier HC37GE210 1/5hp 825 RPM because the shaft looked long enough and the motor appeared to be a direct replacement at $101. I received it in a couple days, installed in 2-3 hours and the A/C has been running perfectly for nearly 5 days now. I did purchase the capacitor and will replace when the old 20 year cap fails. Sorry for the tale of woe. Again, the Packard motor is a “direct replacement” for my Carrier condenser. That’s great!

Direct replacement.
I installed this to replace a failing 20 year old GE motor 2 months ago. Shipping was fast and install was easy. The shaft was about a 1/2 longer but you can adjust the fan position on shaft. I recommend.
