Q: Can the height be adjusted without hardware?

The only height adjustment that can be made is from where you place the main post and where you place the T.v. on the frame. I placed it in the highest position possible .

Q: What is used to secure the cable behind the pole so they don't show?

There are two snap-in "holders" that go into the back that you can put the cables through. Keeps it behind the pole but if you look from the side you will still see the cables, so not really hidden, just secured.

Q: Is it good for a 49" tv
