No Coasters & Great Print Imaging — Update: New Improved Printing Surface
This my first order of the Smart Buy branded discs and, so far, I'm very pleased. I've burned about 25 video discs without any issue and the print surface is very nice, with clear, sharp, and colorful results. Will definitely purchase this product again.8/23/2018 Update: Just thought I would update my earlier comments because I'm so impressed with the performance of this product. I'm currently involved in a project and, over the last month, have burned approx. 190 discs without a single coaster. I believe that burn failures are often blamed on the disc, when it's actually hardware related. I burn a lot of discs and over the years I've used nearly every brand of disc and purchased, and worn out, just about every brand of DVD burner. The difference between a cheap burner and a quality burner, like the Plextor I'm currently using, is the average number of disc failures. However, that said, there is also a difference in disc quality and consistency between brands. I don't have a clue who is manufacturing these Smart Buy discs, but the quality and consistency is as good as any I've ever used.4/3/2019 Update: Have ordered another 100 discs, and still no coasters!8/26/2020 Update: The newest batch of discs received has a greatly improved printing surface. This improved surface is more of a satin finish, as opposed to the matte finish it was, which produces much richer color and greater detail.

Fantastic! Great price! Definitely recommend!!
These Dual Layer DVDs are great! I've been moving my parents VHS collection over to DVDs, and in one batch of 100 dvds, I may have had 5 coasters. Great product, at a fantastic price. Will definitely be buying these again (already have another order coming this week :) )

High Quality Dual Layer Optical Media at a fair price
Dual Layer DVD media is notoriously suspect. There are many stories out there where people tell you how many "coasters" they created while trying to use these. I use this brand in the stock optical drive in my MacPro Tower. Most packs write without any failures. Every now and then, one of them fails. But, my experience is that this is very rare with this brand. I highly recommend these.

Great
This is a great product at a great price. They cost half the price of "Name Brand" DVDs and work just as well. I've been buying these for years and have had zero problems with them.

Last batch had a couple of failures, but the price is fantastic
I have burned several thousand of these DVD's. Cannot beat the price. This last batch had 4 failures when writing. Not sure if its the media or my aging burner. For the price, I'll live with 4 coasters.

High Dud count. Had to throw away 20%+
Used to record home video on VHS to DVD. Bought 100. Error rates so high that 20% could not be played at all. Another 10% or so had read defects that caused freezes and skips during playback. In many cases the defects were visible to the eye when looking at the side that records the data.Bought Verbatim after that. Used in the same burners/players, I have found no errors in writing/reading with Verbatim. They cost more, but the quality of Verbatim is way, way better. The quality of “Smart Buy” is terrible.

Not even one failure!
I have used, or should I say tried to use Memorex DVD DL 8.5gb disc in the past and I had more fail than write successfully. I have run more than 100 of these Smart Buys through my two writers without a single failure! The label surface prints very nicely and provides a close to photographic quality label, using an Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer (pigment ink). I'm currently on my second batch of 100 and still no failure! I have tried them in several different DVD players and they have all play just fine, which is a problem that I had with the Memorex discs, they seemed to record okay, but wouldn't play in anything including the computer they were made in!I highly recommend these disc...they work as good or better than ones costing twice as much!

DvD's are dvds
These are as good as Verbatim or any other high quality dvds as long as they work. These didnt work in a friends dvd player but the Verbatims did. But he got a dvd player that they ended up working on and they play just as fine as any other high quality dvd brand.
