I so wish I had known about this skincare line a long time ago, but just glad I did find it at all. I had been through all the typical stores and websites, trying so many things over the last 15 years. Yes, most were supposed to be for people with skin problems. EVERY SINGLE TIME I tried something, within five minutes, my skin was bright red. My skin reacted to EVERYTHING. I started to believe there was not one single product on the entire planet that my skin would not react to! It was so frustrating. Purchase, fail, repeat. Thing is, I had tried their spring water spray. I sort of ignored all the other products until I was talking to someone randomly and they asked if I had tried Avene. Honestly I decided maybe this was providence and that I had better try it just to be on the safe side. What would life be like if I had ignored their advice and not tried it? If this company ever goes out of business, I will have to live with terrible skin because I already know there is nothing else out there. I had read a review whereby someone had said their doctor told them that the longer they used the products, the better their skin would get. This is completely true. But even initially, all I cared was that I could relieve the dryness with SOMETHING that did not turn my skin RED IMMEDIATELY! Even THAT, I would have been happy with! Now for the rest of the benefits. I had the good intuition to purchase two of these when they were on sale. I am so glad I did. I use it like crazy every chance I get. It just feels so good going on and I like touching my skin even after the product dissipates. No redness, no irritation, it actually CALMS my skin. And makes it like, well, "real skin." I am glad I also got the heavier version in the tube, Cicalfate. This is my go-to for dryer areas and in the winter. The two together along with the water spray, if you like to use something like that, are a great overall program. Definitely other things I would like to try. Again, my goal was to help others who have skin problems because everything else out there has no concept whatsoever of calming the skin, but the exact opposite -- irritating it worse. And I felt the company really deserves a shout-out because they GET IT when it comes to skin care products. Whatever they've done, they are experts, far more than all the other lines and I don't care how long those have been around. If it doesn't immediately tell you your skin "likes it" and shows it by not reacting or immediately getting better, why on earth would you pay your hard-earned money to buy it and keep using it? Honestly it is worth every penny, don't even bat an eyelash, your skin is worth that and more. If it's on sale, get a lot of it because trust me, you are going to want and need it. I am writing this review because I have used this Avene moisturizer for years! I have super sensitive skin and seem have a continuing carousel of products that work for a while but then don't... However, this moisturizer never leaves the rotation because it does exactly what it promises. It helps with skin barrier and also redness without any unwanted side effects. It's also a great price. It's sold in French pharmacies but runs circles around higher end brands in terms of efficacy.

I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, and this cream has been a lifesaver. It calms redness, soothes irritation, and feels light yet moisturizing without clogging pores. My skin looks and feels more balanced, and I finally found something I can use daily without flare-ups.

As someone with rosacea (type 1) and very sensitive, dry skin, what I like most about this moisturizer is what's NOT in it. I want moisturizer that simply moisturizes my skin, without any fancy add-ons that my skin can't tolerate. I've been amazed at how hard it is to find an effective moisturizer that's not stuffed with fragrance, essential oils, botanical extracts, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and other ingredients my skin can't tolerate. Enter this little gem. It makes my skin feel so soft and smoothe, but without any irritating ingredients. Yes, it is a bit pricey for the amount, but worth it for me and they have sales frequently. I will say that it is not quite moisturizing enough on its own for my dry skin (I know they have a balm version, but it has shea butter and that makes my skin break out if I use too much of it), so I layer an occlusive sunscreen on top of it in the AM, and I use their barrier cream (Cicafalte) on top in the PM, and it's perfect. Since this product has such a simple ingredient list, it's also great to use with actives (I currently have a prescription rosacea cream that includes azelaic acid). I will definitely be ordering more of this in the future!

I have bought this several times and love it for daytime moisturizer. The problem it is small and doesn’t last long. I often apply twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon and again at night. But love that it doesn’t break me out or give my sensitive skin issues. I just wish it was a bit thicker and a bigger tube.

This is a great product for people with super sensitive skin. It feels soothing, lightweight, and doesn’t cause irritation. Definitely one we will keep buying again. Highly recommend for sensitive skin care routines.

This cream was sent by the rosacea gods for us girls, gays, and theys, even hims that need some soothing on our faces. This will take away the red and swollen look from your face and eyes in less than 60 seconds. It doesn’t leave you super dewy, or glassy, but with more of a natural or satin finish. As a 44 yr old woman I’ll be buying this forever and ever. FYI, it pair beautifully with the cicalfate cream.
