Just buy it!!
This has been the best! Unlimited hot water! The wiring to install is expensive, ours is very close to the breaker so definitely affordable. Like others have said the power goes off when the electricity goes out, but it takes less than a second to push the power button. We have had ours for 2 years now with no problems. We have well water with high iron that destroyed our hot water tank. Which ended up being a blessing in disguised!

I will do business with them again in the future!!!
Here is my 100% “gods honest” experience and i really do hope this helps people!! Sorry it’s a little long!…I decided to give the 18k evening tide a try in my home! After reading the owners manual it was simple enough to understand how to install it! (I must mention i am a handyman by trade) it took a few hours to read, pull wires, and run some plumbing. I was moving my hot water heater location from the basement to the utility room on the main floor, because otherwise it would not take nearly as long since its basically a plug and play unit!!I did have an issue… & looking back, i know my original unit was faulty out of the box… i had ordered it on cyber monday so honestly i am wondering if it was dropped in the mail… it worked for 2 weeks and crapped out… this is my first experience with tankless & no one i know has used them either… so i didn't know something was wrong initially… when it died i was sad to learn that their customer service line is only open 12-4 est & panicked a little lol…. But i found out you can email them any time and they will typically get back to you outside of that timeframe!!! They are a smaller company & so I totally understand!! Per their request I sent them a couple short videos along with some other information and i was issued a replacement!!Exactly 1 week from making initial contact with the company i had my replacement and swapped the units out. Which took abt 30 mins including cutting breakers off & on in the basement, I honestly could’ve probably coached my 10 year old through doing it!! Immediately i knew the replacement was a good unit and that the original never was!! (It goes to standby mode when the hot water is not running which makes total since!!! If you see an EF code when the water isn’t running it does not mean energy efficient lolol)Anyways, to wrap all of this all up, i am very pleased with this product and company!! I do a lot of home remodeling and honestly i will start putting these in houses that need new water heaters!! Im a single mom of 3 girls & we tend to go through some hot water… lolol this is seriously a game changer in our life!!! Everyone can shower back to back before bed and no one has to get stuck with a potentially cold one lololol its so compact and honestly not bad to look at!!*Just wanted to update*We are 3 months in with the new unit and i am beyond pleased!!! I can run a bath while the shower is running and theres never a shortage of hot water!! The only *flaw* i have found is if you only run the hot water momentarily (im talking seconds) then the unit beeps because there is no water flow to cool the jets which just fired up. Which is not actually a flaw, just how things work! So if you turn on the hot water let it run for at least 30 seconds lol i am in love with this purchase!!

Requires manual restart after every power flicker or outage
As I say in all of my reviews, each product starts with 3 stars. Why? Because 3 means it met expectations, no more and no less. I add or remove stars from there based on whether I was impressed or disappointed, and on any interaction with manufacturer (not Amazon) customer service. This unit gets 1 star since it does not work as expected, nor was customer service helpful when I reached out.Yes, it is a tankless water heater and it does in fact heat your water to (as far as I can tell) the appropriate temperature. Installation was no easier or harder than other units I've installed. The issue is that it becomes inactive with any power interruption at all, whether it's an outage or even a flicker of lights. In order to get it to work again, I have to get into the crawlspace and manually press the power button; otherwise, it won't heat water. To be clear, it doesn't get fully reset - it remembers settings such as the target water temperature - it simply remains in "Standby" mode until the power button is touched. Also to be clear, while this happens with full power outages (no power) and even the kind of flickers that happen during storms or high wind or just randomly. I'm talking the kind of power blips that don't even reset the microwave or range clocks because they're so fast and minor; they do, however, cause this unit to go into permanent standby. While made more frustrating since this unit is in my crawlspace - yours might be in a closet or garage that is much easier to access - I only reduced the rating by 1 star for this. I have a 10-year old 27kW EcoSmart (since purchased by Rheem) that cost less then than this 18kW Airthereal unit does now and it doesn't have such a ridiculous design flaw. It just works. This brings me to the second star I removed and the reason for a 1-star rating: customer service. I contacted Airthereal customer service about this issue almost 2 weeks before the 30-day Amazon return window closed and they drew out their responses so long that the 30 days passed, meaning I couldn't return it. Admittedly, I could have disconnected it at any point and returned without waiting for a response from Airthereal, but I was hoping that such obviously unintentional behavior would be recognized as a functional defect that they would address with an updated control board or something, but no. I was informed that the customer service rep "consulted" with their engineering team and that the unit is functioning as designed.Just to be completely sure, I ordered a second unit 5 months after the first and tested to see if my original was in fact defective or if Airthereal had made improvements to the design. It same issue exists: any power interruption, no matter how small, causes the unit to be stuck in standby mode until the power button is touched to reset it.

It does what claim to do. And maybe more
That thing works great! Heat almost immediately and constantly, the more you open the shower or wathever the less heat is gon give you. Just have to get used to it.

It’s the best
I am so glad I went with this. My electric bill went from 300 to 100-$150. The water is so hot and nice. As a contractor I’ve had to deal with water heaters and this is by far the best experience. The only con for me was having to go outside to get to the water heater closet to turn it back on when electric flips or goes out. I didn’t program it to my phone or I wouldn’t have to manually push the button. I gained quite a bit of space ripping the closet out in the long run. We did have to install a 220 and buy a couple fittings and wire but I didn’t spend over $300 all together with parts and installation

The wiring is going to cost you almost as much as the water heater but well worth the expense
I would just like to say besides the little bit of cost and wiring this is the best investment we have made in a long time for the first time since we've owned our home for 4 years I'm able to fill my garden tub full of hot water and enjoy a bath I can shower at the same time my daughters are showering at the other end of the house with no issues this has been a great investment! I would definitely give it five stars
