Yes, that’s what I used in mine.

Q: Is there a max temperature the tray can stand? If I use water from the kettle?

Honestly, not sure. I just used hot tap water. It feels like it should be fine because it’s not flimsy, but not sure. It comes with two so if you try it, you’ll still have the other one.

Q: Can fingernail polish remover be put into these bowls without damaging them?

I didn’t get to use mine because they came cracked, but they are designed for use with fingernail polish remover - so, no - it won’t damage them.

Q: How do you clean these? All the gunk (soaked off dip powder) coagulated on the bottom and stuck.

With a qtip or stock I rub that gunk before I take out the remover. It keeps it soft enough to remove and then wipe it out with remover soaked cotton pads
