Brighter Blooms - Red Dragon Japanese Maple Tree, 1-2 ft, No Shipping to AZ

I purchased this Japanese maple a year ago and after a hot Virginia summer and a mild winter, it is now taking off with lots of new healthy leafs in the second spring. In a few years this would grow into a very beautiful tree.

I purchased this tree in February so I expected it to arrive in winter dormant form, which it did, so no surprise there. It was well-packed in the shipping container, tho some dirt did get loose from the bag. Here in Texas it's already warm, so I kept it indoors until the freezing nights were done then put it outside. Water almost daily, good sun and some rain exposure, and a couple weeks later it's growing nicely with a good head of leaves on the top most branches. Looking great, I expect it to do well based on what I'm seeing so far.

Basically someone just cut a branch off of another tree dipped it in some rooting hormones, hoping that it will grow roots. It has no leaves on it so the chances of it to grow roots are slimmed and none. I'm leaning towards none. But I will try. If it actually grows I will come back and change my star rating.

Came with free grubs in the soil. Also definitely not red like the pictures, maybe that will change as the weather warms upUpdate: still green
