Love this!
At my home office, I have my main computer display plus 2 external monitors. I travel a lot for work, and I felt really hampered using just the 1 display when traveling. I did a lot of research on which portable monitor to buy and finally landed on the 17 inch version of this one. I couldn't be happier.Set up was instant; just plugged it in and it worked (on a MacBook Pro). I use the USBC to carry both video and power from the laptop, so I only have to bring along 1 cord (although any others needed came with the unit.). My laptop screen is only 13", so the bigger screen is incredibly helpful.I've been using it for about 3 months now, on several different trips. I'm as happy now as I was when I first opened the box. It fits perfectly into my briefcase, and not too heavy, so it doesn't add a lot of weight. The included cover protects the screen great. And even though my main purpose was for traveling, I've discovered this has freed me a little from my desk when I'm at home. Even though I use my laptop in my home office, I pretty much never tried to work anywhere other than the office when I'm home, just because I didn't want to be limited to 1 screen, and moving my big monitors is way too much work. But now, I find myself occasionally working outside if the weather is nice, and it's really liberating! It's plenty bright enough for me to work outside on my porch, which is shaded. The speakers are about what you'd expect, which is not all that great, but certainly fine for zoom meetings. (I typically use the internal speakers on my computer. They're better than these.)I've seen other reviewers complain about the colors. I agree they're not perfect, but after I worked with it in the settings a bit, they got much better than out of the box. Still not perfect, but fine for all my applications.I've also seen a few reviews complaining about the kick-stand. I haven't experienced any issues with it. I really like how conveniently it folds up to put back in my briefcase.Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase. I've been recommending it to all my friends.

Great display when your office is wherever you are at
I work remotely, all over the US, and there is not a lot to say about this monitor-- it does what it is supposed to do, well. I was initially worried, because when I received my first one, I tried to open the stand, and it popped right off. Customer service was easy to work with and I got a replacement in short order. No issue two plus years later with the replacement and now have a second one-- again, no issues.I often rent equipment for meetings where everyone needs external monitors that do not block the sightlines between the attendees. My vendor saw mine portable ViewSonic and bought a bunch for their inventory-- again, all good. My only... warning (not a complaint) is that they are, as you would expect adverse to being knocked off desks. They are sturdy in that they continue to function, but the bottom of the facia /frame pops loose and does not pop back in very securely. I dot of hot glue does the trick, but the better fix is probably to knock them off desks in the first place, as they are in no way rated for being dropped from any height.

Not just for gaming! Very easy on the eyes at 1080p
What it has- Similar refresh rate to my MacBook Pro with ProMotion display- Splendid contrast and color- Minimal to no hotspots- *nice* Build quality- magnetic protective cover- Many settings and input methods (+ cables included)Although this isn’t any anywhere close to a portable monitor that is double the price if you are looking for industry standard gamut specifications like LG Gram or similar, but from the start , this proves better than most premium laptop displays and will still serve well as a companion display in graphic design environments. What it does not have:- Vertical stand (however *certain* J-hook style iPad stands may work)-Per pixel backlighting - this won’t look identical to Apple Studio or MacBook display due to that, but it’s pretty close in contrast with some manual adjustments.- It’s 1080p - it’s not Retina, but it looks close to something like a Dell XPS or a premium office monitor. The colors are rich and gradients look quite well without any visible banding. The 144 Hz was the selling point for me personally, since I am more bothered by low(60hz) refresh rate than pixel density, and at this price point you will need to tradeoff either of the two , as well as between price and build quality. In conclusion, this monitor is well balanced with everything , especially at the price point of $200 to $250.
