Worth every cent
This book is not what I expected. Tilson is an outstanding investor, and someone I look up to. In hindsight, other reviews are spot on in what is included in this book. This is a gift from Tilson to the value investing community and I appreciate every word and line. In Tilsons next book, I would love to read about the Art and Science that he incorporates into his portfolio management... Less anything proprietary.

Investment ideas from experts
I found the book to be interesting and it gave me many new investment concepts to consider in the future. I found the format of the book to be both a plus and a minus. Clearly the ideas came from many experts and as such had high credibility. This was useful. However I missed the authors' task of integrating the comments, some of which were at times contradictory. I wished the authors would have written some integrating comments at the end of each chapter to pull together the comments better. To me one task of an author is to help the reader learn by integration and summarization. I felt the authors could have helped me more there. I am still only an educated amateur in investing and I would have liked more help.

Great advice from a number of fund managers at the coal face
There are some real gems of investment advice here from some very good stock focused fund managers, however there is also some average advice from average fund managers, so before you take their advice on board check their long-term track record, but this is a real bible of value stock investing and well worth the purchase

Very well done!
This is a very well put together book compiling interviews with many well respected and successful investors. The authors have done a great job organizing these investors thoughts by subject. The format reminds me of Lawrence Cunningham's Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America.

A Better Book Title: "Value Investing Philosophies"
This book does not supply the nuts and bolts of value investing; but rather, gives you the different philosophies, of value investing, from various money managers. From that standpoint, it has value. However, if you're expecting to read the book, in order glean how to select value stocks using metrics, look elsewhere.

There are better books for Value Investing
I do not like the way this book is written. It is essentially a compilation of quotes and stories from various asset managers. Did not gain as much from this book relative to the many other value investing books I have read.
