Seems great for R/C batteries.
I recently got into R/C cars. Which means batteries and charging. The chargers that came with cars take hours to charge. This charged them in about an hour. I have three 2200MA batteries and a 4400MA battery. I charged all 4 in less time than it takes to charge one of the 2200MA batteries with the cable that came with the car, and that was using the "balanced charge" function. Not the "quick charge". The unit did get a little warm but from what I have read, that is normal. I have only had this charger a couple days but so far it is impressive.

Charge Master Software lets you monitor your batteries from a computer !! This thing is great.
I had one that was basically dead out of the box, but returned and the replacement is fantastic. Comes with several connection types and love the aligator clip charging option (though dangerous ha) its great for people like me. The Charger does Get hot, and does not have a Fan, but you can monitor the temp from the App, and it does tell you to wait between cycles. I like the fact it doesnt have a fan running constantly, however in the case I need to keep it going non stop I did add a little 5v fan to the side of the charger basically take one screw out of the top left corner on the side that has the USB connection and then use a long plastic screw to go through the little 5v fan housing and back into the charger. Cut a USB cable and tied into the 5v power supply from the computer and used a balance lead so I can unplug it if I don't need the fan running. Next step I will get a thermostat to auto engage the fan, but its easy enough just to unplug it, I may also add a hellgate buzzer onto the thermostat and have it kick on the buzzer if temps get too crazy, but those are just tinker minded add ons, Really not necessary. If you are not pushing the thing it stays within a reasonable temp and is actually cooler than others I have used. This is the best charger I have ever owned simply for the app. One thing that I miss on the app (unless I just cant figure it out) the app doesn't allow you to do a resistance check) you have to manually scroll to that on the machine. (correct me if I am wrong) furthermore that is just software, that could easily be updated in the future. the button clickers are not the highest quality, so I do suggest long term using the PC to control it, that way less wear and tear on the buttons.

So far so good, except for the battery cell meter bug...
Just got it, seems fairly solid. One issue so far: the battery cell meter won't read low voltages. We hooked it up and immediately got "invalid cell voltage" warnings on a couple batteries. Thought is was a bum unit, as I've seen other complaints to that effect in review. But no, in fact it was right. Score one or the B6. However, in order to determine it was right, I had to dig out my stand alone multi-meter. Score one against. Why? Because when you switch this unit to the "battery meter", which is supposed to report individual cell voltages -- guess what? It only reports voltages above the valid range for each cell. So it shows flat zeros, as if the battery had less cells. This is less than useless. Because you can't tell a bad connector or wire from a bad cell. In this case, the battery was discharged just below the valid range and I could not diagnose it. But I was able to put it on another "stupid" charger briefly, and trick the B6 into seeing that cell again by putting a small surface charge on the cell. Way too much effort and possible confusion. In fact, I almost returned the meter. Just show me the actual low cells voltages so I can see what's what! After sorting this out, I was able to jumper the balanced leads and read the low voltage of another battery cell on the B6 by connecting it solo only to the main leads -- so it reads like a NiMH and didn't threshold the voltage. So I know the meter can read cell values below 3 volts, it just chooses not to. BTW, I completely understand the charger electing not to charge out-of-spec cells for safety reasons, that is not my complaint. It is that it hides the voltages from me so I cannot diagnose the error. Smart charger, please assume smart user and give us info. Hopefully this will be considered a bug and fixed in a firmware update (hopeful look?)Will update as we use it and see how it holds up.

Not just for RC Hobbies, Restored my old Drill
My late father gave me a cordless Ingersoll Rand drill with NICD batteries. Both battery packs were dead. The Ingersoll Rand included charger would charge them for 5 minutes, then say they were fully charged. The drill would die in less than a minute.I rebuilt one of the packs and it worked great. The other pack I decided to charge with this SKY RC / IMAX charger. I set it to NICD, and set the amps to the charging amps on the back of the Ingersoll Rand charger (2.2A). It took about an hour and the battery pack and charger got very warm, but the completely dead battery pack is fully functional again, and this sentimental drill is working again. I used the alligator lead clips to do this.I'm not sure how long the batteries will last, eventually I will convert them to LiPo using one of the hundreds of youtube tutorials I've seen on YouTube, however, I am happy to see the other dead pack alive again. FWIW that pack has been sitting at least 8 years unused, completely drained. If you try this, please use safety precautions, put the charger and battery somewhere that if by chance it explodes, it wont injure anyone or start a fire.
