Facilitated the recovery of many happy memories on old Hi8 videos!!

Destroyed my 8mm recording...
Product was slow to open. To close you had to manually close it. Upon removing a rememberable 8mm recording, it destroyed the tape. I'm not happy.

Exactly what I needed!
I needed to capture 35 8MM and Hi-8 tapes and the camera did a great job

Good condition for technology from the 90's
I have another Sony HandyCam 8mm from 1989. It lost the mechanical ability to adjust for tracking and the camera eventually started eating tapes. Knowing that I have aa box of tapes and no way to play them led me to search for another like player on Amazon. I found this next generation camera/VTR and ordered it. It arrive within days (Thanks, Prime!) but only one of the two batteries will charge and there were no AV and S-Video cables for transfer or TV playback. I'm sure it was a minor oversite, as the camera is in great shape.

Digitalizing Process
