Excellent product and exceptional technical service
I recently purchased the Genmax GM3500iAED generator, however when I received it, the electronic start was not functionable. It started ok via the manual "pull" start and the generator functioned very well. Probably this problem was caused in the shipping and handling to me.I immediately called the manufacturer's Technical Support line and they immediately attended to the problem. They contacted the manufacturer and the manufacturer immediately approved a replacement generator. As I was leaving shortly for a trip to Alaska and a functional generator was urgently required by me in remote areas and as Amazon would not ship the replacement unit to an address in Alaska, the manufacturer very graciously allowed me to keep the generator I received to use on my trip (as the manual start was functional) and they graciously offered me a full credit to my credit card for the cost of the generator (so that I could purchase another generator at a later date if desired). The manufacturer and their techical support company, Tomahawk, in San Diego, never hesitated to try to solve my problem and were very forthcoming in allowing me to keep the generator (with the no electronic starting capability, but manual starting functional) at no cost to me and providing me full credit for the cost of it. This was greatly appreciated and again I hereby thank them for their prompt response to my problem and their generousity in adequately solving my problem, given my urgent circumstance of requiring a generator in remote areas..As for the functionality and specifications of this generator, I can already tell, from my limited use of it, that the generator is a very good quality product. With the features it has, it appears that there is currently no equal to it on the market at that cost. I am an electrical engineer and before buying the generator, I did very extensive research for what we required in this type of generator and could find no other model that has all the features we required for use in polar regions. The physical size, which has capability of generating 3200 actual watts of power, the dual energy ability of gasoline and propane gas, the electric and remote starting features, coupled with the 145cc four cylinder engine specifications, makes this product a winner. The manufacturer and their techical support team's action in propmtly resolving my problem tends to suggest that they seriously want their customers to receive excellent technical support and for them to be satisfied with their product.I highly recommend this product and the company's technical support to anyone who requires a generator with these technical specifications. A good product and excellent technical service!

Surprisingly Quiet GenMax 3500w
It was delivered today, and I now have it running with a small electrical load to wash the engine with a load of clean oil that I will change at 6 hours to clean our any metal shavings from the engine manufacture process. I did an initial oil change at 1 hour (and no load) with plenty of "glitter" flowing out with that initial oil change. The owner's manual did not specify to do this, but I think it is a good idea for any filterless oil sump small engine. My first impression is that this is a good deal for a 3500w generator. I own both a Honda EU1000i and an EU2000i, so this is now my third generator. I bought this one because it is dual fuel and the larger size will allow me to run more items in my travel trailer. I always thought the 13500 AC unit on my trailer strained a bit under the EU2000, even though I have the Microair easy start module installed.I was expecting a much louder unit than my EU2000i, but this is not the case. YES, it is a bit louder, but not significantly louder. In fact, when I first fired it up, I was astonished how quiet it was. It's got a good muffler that wipes out any rattling or popping sound, but it does have a significant low bass exhaust note, although it is not too obnoxious. I hate loud generators in the campground, and yes you and your neighbors definitely will know it is running, but it is not any more bothersome than my EU2000i.For $800 (I had a $100 off Amazon coupon available), the machine looks well made, only time will tell on how it holds up. But right now, my initial thought that this is an awesome deal for a 57-pound, 3500-watt generator that is dual fuel and has remote start/stop.

Dead battery, no replacement = worthless generator!
Update. I took this generator to a repair shop and indeed the battery is dead. It’s not an easy replacement though. The shop nor I could find a similar style / hookup to replace it with. It was bad enough that it had to be taken completely apart to get to it, but then to not be able to buy a new one to put in it is exasperating! I have no idea what to do with it now. The pull start doesn’t work either because the choke is disabled without the electrical control panel.I like the size of the generator and weight. I bought because it had a remote and push start option. Unfortunately those do not work. I have checked the connection fuse and it is secure. It appears battery is dead but I have no idea how to charge it with tools provided.

CO shutdown after an hour runtime.
I like this generator for camping, it's not too heavy and it has more power than my generac 3000i. The fact that it is duel fuel is an awsome upgrade too. My only gripe is that when you just want to charge your trailer batteries up it can take 3-4 hours before the charge fan in the trailer shuts down letting me know the batteries no longer need to be on the charger. This generator shuts down after 1 to 2 hours from the CO sensor I believe. I was going to return the generator but the return window closed about 10 days before I got back from the camping trip were it got tested thoroughly. By the way the display never reads runtime either, but thats not that big of a deal to me. So since I can't return it and I like it, if you just want to make popcorn it works great with the remote, I decided to bypass the CO sensor. I did some poking around with my volt meter and found that the white wire from the CO sensor just needed to be grounded all the time. So I jumped the black wire {which is ground} to the white wire with a butt connector and everything seems to work good without the shutdown effect. I think I will like this generator alot more on the future camping trips. I wouldn't recommend this modification if you are planning on sleeping with the generator running all night or if you don't understand the effects of CO poisoning. I'm an auto mechanic so I understand very well the headache, dizziness and nausea that make me think I need some fresh air. Good luck to anyone with this generator just understand that it isn't perfect but it's cheap for what you get.
