Excellent! Great For Us "Big Boned" Gals (Or Anyone On The Heavy Side), Stable, Sturdy & Can Work As A Impromptu Stool/Chair
The Delxo 3 step ladder is perfect for me with sturdy, wide treads, padded handle at the top and it's easy to operate. I'm (let's just say) "big boned" and nearly 300lbs. In my thinner days standing on a chair was fine but I'm a bit older and heavier than then so I need a better solution and this is it.Here is what I like:+ This is sturdy and stable for this nearly 300lb lady!+ 3 steps give me all the range I need in the house (changing light bulbs and cleaning up high)+ The treads are wide and deep with a non-slip top for sure footing+ I can use it as an impromptu seat - the padded handle works as a back rest: Nice Design!+ Opening and closing are easy, sure locking and smooth+ It stores compactly when closed+ Non-scuff feet to protect floorsWhat I don't so much:- It's a little heavy, but could it be as sturdy if lighter? Not really a valid complaint. In conclusion my only down-side (a little heavy) probably isn't reasonable as it has a lot to do with the step-stool's sturdiness. And there is so much I like about the Delxo step stool. Whether I'm taking a seat on the wide/deep treads or climbing up to change a light bulb or clean the top of my windows this step-stool feels sure and secure. It's easy to open and use and even being heavy I feel secure standing on it. If that doesn't earn 5 stars, I don't know what does. Excellent step stool for my use..

Very Sturdy with Wide Steps
I actually bought this for face painting so that I wouldn't have to bring a bar chair and a set of step stools...for that purpose it's worked well. The children can easily get up the stairs themselves and take a seat. The seat width is large enough for most adults and because of the weight recommendations, I feel good about parents holding small children in their laps without a problem. It's nice that the handle curves out. It leaves more room on the seat and also I'm able to rest it on my shoulder (like a purse) when folded and it clears my hip. Just make sure kids don't recline onto the back, they could slip through and fall out the back. The grip rubber on the steps is high quality, grooved and I don't think it will lift.I had to take a star off for a couple of reasons. It's a bit heavy. I almost wish it had been made out of aluminum. I suppose it wouldn't hold as much weight as it does if it was, but if I have to walk very far, it starts to hurt my shoulder and a bit unwieldy to put in the back of the car. That isn't a problem for household use but it might be a bit heavy for an older person to lift around and store.Second, there is a small gravity latch under the seat that seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and is actually IS made of aluminum and it's bent now. I have to lay the ladder down about 45 degrees to be able to fold it and it might cause a pinching hazard if you're not careful. Just keep your left hand on the curved handle and not the back legs.PROS: Sturdy, safe, wide steps, doubles as a chair because of rounded handleCONS: Weight, gravity latch

Is just as described.
I really liked the sturdiness of this ladder. So helpful to reach the high shelves in my ceiling high cabinets. Also, it folds to fit in right next to my refrigerator in a less than 2” space so easy to grab, as well as store.

Good quality step stool, recommended
We first purchased a step stool from a Big Box store and was quite disappointed. Stool wobbled when opened due to uneven legs and it felt flimsy. The straight back / handle limited full use of the top step and pressed uncomfortably into your legs when standing at the top. We took it back and ordered this one.We couldn't be happier with the purchase. The Delxo stool is of quality construction and feels solid. Stool is firmly grounded when open. The curved, foam cover, chair back / handle not only provides good leg room or seating room on the top step, but it protects the walls when stored in our closet. The large vinyl / rubber covers on each step provides sure non-slip footing when in use. We have used it numerous times since it arrived for painting and decorating projects and as a quick extra chair when visitors arrived. I'm a big guy at 270 lbs and this stool provides a solid base when working from the top step compared to a small 3 step ladder I had used previously. In the "Easy to Fold" category I would have given this step stool 5 stars, but the release catch could be better designed for easier use. It takes a little getting use to in releasing it. The catch would have been better if it was spring loaded and had a bar, tab or button to release it. Not a deal breaker, but it is worth mentioning.

Surprisingly Heavy!
I don’t know why I was so surprised at the step ladder’s weight but I was. I guess a ladder that will support 300+ pounds needs to be heavy but I just didn’t put it together in my mind when I bought it.The other thing I noticed is the back legs don’t rest evenly on the floor when there’s no weight on it. It gives the ladder the feeling of being wibble-wobbly until you step up onto it. Even then, the wide foot pads slide infintesimally, just enough to make sure you want to be holding on tightly to any nearby stationary object. Once you are up on the steps though, everything comes together & feels much more solid. My final complaint is that I haven’t been able to figure out how to collapse the ladder easily in order to put it away. The instructions don’t seem to match the ladder. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it eventually. Now for the good parts, lol. I do like that you can sit easily on the top step with the padded handle acting as a back rest. I like the size of the steps, they are nice & wide & don’t hurt my feet when I have to stand on them for any length of time.Overall, it’s an acceptable product, I just wish it felt more secure from the get go. I don’t have the confidence in it that I would like.
