BLACK+DECKER Pet Hair Remover, Roller, Remove Dog Hair and Cat Hair Easily (HMSCT0001)

This thing is amazing. Look at photos!I only have two cats, but I have new carpeting that is only year and a half old that the people in charge of getting this house ready before I moved in, gave me the cheapest carpet they could and charged me a fortune. I can only vacuum my carpet once a month otherwise there will be nothing left. Every time I vacuum my Dyson canister fills up almost halfway w/ carpet fiber, white powder dust, which is from cheap carpet and padding and Cat hair. I have four oriental/decorative rugs that I use my Dyson hand VAC on and one of them I can actually vacuum with my upright Dyson. My friend had posted this Black & Deckeron her Facebook page so I got one. It came a day later and now I need to vacuum my carpeting because this is what I got off my carpets.I’m a very clean person, I do not wear shoes in my house and I swiffer my floors often because of the crappy carpet fiber situation. I just swiffered my floors and shook out the bathroom, rugs and kitchen rug two days ago and 44 hours later. I swiffered again after I used this product and unbelievable how much on the swiffer cloths already because I need to vacuum my carpeting, but I worry. I will be vacuuming today. This carpet situation has been driving me crazy for a year and a half.When I use my Dyson upright-on my carpeting, a third of it is full of white powder substance which is because it’s crappy carpet and padding and that’s been since day one moving into this house a year and a half ago. Wanted to move out this year. I’m gonna do one more year and then I’m out of here.Anyway, back to the review. Five stars!!!!Read instructions!! Go back-and-forth a foot or two all over and dump the container often. If you don’t go back-and-forth, it won’t clean off the purple strips that have the hair on them. I read all the negative reviews, obviously they were only going in one direction, you have to go back-and-forth, back-and-forth with it.Now I need to do my couches.Buy one or two.I highly recommend.

Long ago, I had tried pet hair removing hand mitts to remove hair from my clothes. That was pretty laborious way to do it and tough to get the collected hair OFF the mitt. A short time ago, I found and bought another version of this type of hair remover tool on Amazon so I could see how well this concept worked. It did work well but had some poor design elements like a short handle which caused your finger to open the hair trap door accidentally. After using it more, it really seemed like a poor execution of a really good tool design. THEN I happened upon the B&D version of this tool on Amazon and OH BOY, what a DIFFERENCE!!! B&D did a great job designing THEIR version of this tool! Longer handle to keep your finger away from opening the trap door, rubber gripping on the handle to better handle the tool AND a really convenient clear trap door so you can see how full the trap is! AND this tool does a GREAT job of grabbing cat hair (I have THREE cats!) so I'm constantly having to try to get rid of hair off my clothes, furniture and carpeting. This tool does a GREAT job doing just that! So good in fact, that I picked up ANOTHER one of these B&D's to have another one handy in my place! One of those tools that ACTUALLY is a well designed, well executed HANDY tool that does it's function VERY WELL!!!

There are SO many pet hair remover rollers out there just like this, from different brands. I've tried like a dozen of them. They all work pretty much the same. Some are made of super cheap plastic that you know isn't going to last. This one isn't all that different though, despite the Black & Decker name; it's still cheap China plastic. But I found it to be slightly better than the others in terms of quality (or maybe it's just a mental thing because of the Black & Decker name, lol). The button to release the hair when you're done is positioned a little better, so I don't accidentally press it while I'm using the device. And of course, like all of these pet hair remover rollers, it works incredibly well in removing the hair!

I purchased three different styles of pet hair remover tools for the purpose of cleaning out my car. Full disclosure, although I have three dogs, the hardest hair to remove is the one from my white short-haired dog (almost dalmatian-like fur). It is short, white, and wiry so it embeds in cloth/trunk upholstery and is a pain to get out. This tool was my second choice specific to that fur. I think it definitely works better for longer pet-hair, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked on the short hair. The trick is using it with short, fast, back and forth action in small areas at a time - not long vacuum-like strokes. Cleaning small areas at a time is quick and effective and a lot of the hair became dislodged and captured in the tool. It was also a breeze to clean.

This is my new favorite pet hair remover!This works soooooo much better than the tape rollers (which you get about one roll before you have to try to peel off the layer of tape. It also works sooooo much better than the other "reusable" pet fur removers where you have to try to get the fur off yourself.The cost is amazingly low considering you don't have to buy tape refills and compared to more "reusable" solutions.Because of the success I have had with this product, I feel like stocking up on about 8 of them (slight exageration) so I always have one close by for quick cleanups.[LCAR]The build quality is solid -- I've used it to remove pet fur from my flannel sheets, ottomans and cloth surfaces. As long as you roll it BACK AND FORTH so that the fur that is picked up winds up in the chamber, it does really well.
