Some lids are not as fitting as it is.

This is a container made for and advertised for food, but it is not BPA free, which is a known cancer causing chemical. The fact that the box comes with a big warning that the product is not BPA free, and that BPA is known to cause cancer, is concerning. Seems like they could just remake the product with different materials. We returned ours rather than risk it.

Before picking this, I read reviews on Amazon and even did a couple internet searches because it just wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. The complaints about the various choices alternated between the lid falling off (haha! -- obviously not good!) and not being able to get the lid off without real exertion. I finally landed on this one and decided to give it a go -- honestly, it's perfect. No problem with the lid -- I mean no problem at all. And it has a good feel -- I thought the plastic might have those unpleasant seams or something, but its smooth all the way around. I guess there's aren't many of us looking for a big salt shaker (for cooking), but if you are, I can't see why you won't be very happy with this on. Oh, it comes with 3 lids; mine just happens to be for salt, but it would clearly be great for other things. Excellent product.

All three of the press-on lids fit so poorly that they slowly creep off. They should snap on and resist coming off. I have several other dredges, one with a fine wire screen that is perfect for flouring a bread board while kneading dough. Ditto a medium one for coarser spices. My intended use was for mixed seasonings when I make huge batches of turkey stuffing/dressings. Having three sizes of holes seemed like an added bonus though I mainly wanted large holes. Too bad the lids try to sneak off and dump the contents all at once. Amazon Prime's EZ return/refund policy make glitches like this a breeze to correct. Thanks Amazon. You make correcting product issues as painless as one could expect.

My hobby is grilling and BBQ'ing outdoors. I have a pullout spice drawer that is full. I needed a generic type spice shaker (Dredge) to use with some of my rubs. Some are packaged in from 2 to 7 pound containers so I needed something to put them in when applying it to my meat to be cooked.The polycarbonate Dredge's from New Star Foodservices seemed to be just what I needed. I ordered a couple and have been trying them out on different rubs, Kosher salt and cracked pepper. They have a nice handle and are clear so you can see the spices inside. Each one comes with 3 different lids and the holes get progressively bigger on each. That way you have three different hole choices for each shaker. These shakers are priced about 50% less than the metal ones and seem like they work just as well. I will be ordering additional ones.
