Great story my daughter with autism identified with
It's hard for my daughter to make friends and use appropriate social skills. When a teacher was reading this to her, she said "just like me" when the girl in the story said it is hard to make friends. That's hard for a momma's heart to hear, but I like how the book walked her through strategies on how to make friends.

Good story but a bit too long
I got this for my son who will start kindergarten in the fall. He is currently in preschool but always says "I don't know how to make friends. Can you help me make friends?" I'm not good at that either. This book has very good tips that even adults can use, but I find that it is a bit long and can be shorten for the kids attention span. My daughter (same age; twins) was already bored halfway through.STORY: It's about a little shy and quiet girl who is lonely anns want to make friends. One night she dreamt about visiting a magic forest where she learned from the animals on how to make friends. She woke up and was able to make friends with all the great tips she learned.PROS: Great overall message/tips and wonderful illustration.CONS: Needs to be shorten for younger kids attention span.

Fun read and good ideas for children on making friends
I have read a few of Elizabeth Cole’s books, so I was pretty sure that this would be another great children’s book.Melissa is shy and doesn’t play with the other kids because of her shyness. She tells herself she doesn’t need friends, but, of course, she’s fooling herself. When she goes to sleep, she dreams about all kinds of different animals who are friends. They give her examples of how to approach others to start a conversation and then perhaps play with them. The story is told in rhymes and the illustrations are cute and colorful. It encourages children to use their imaginations as well as teaching them ways to make friends.

wonderful book about friendship!
I loved reading this wonderful rhyming story about friendship to my son. He is 4 and love making new friends. This story can help a shy kid to find many different ways of making friends. The story is about a little girl by name Melissa who at first has hard time making new friends until she travels to magic land of friendship in her dream and learns how to make friends! Great activity bonus in the end the book make this story not only entertaining but also useful! Illustrations are beautiful as well!

Super cute read on making friends.
If you have a child that has issues making friends, or even keeping friends, then you need to add this book to your cart! Seriously, go ahead and add it.Elizabeth keep the story fun with the rhyming while also showing the reader how to make friends. She also shows great examples of how to respond when a friend wins and you don’t. Great read!!

Absolutely Beautiful!
I wish I had such a book when I was younger. There are many children who are shy and find it difficult to make friends. This book will teach kids how to do just that. I really related to the character as an adult. I’ll have to try these tips out myself! The illustrations were bright colorful and beautiful. Loved it!
