A-Premium Alternator Compatible with Chrysler 200 11-14, Town & Country 11-16 & Dodge Avenger 11-14, Grand Caravan 11-20, Journey 11-19 & Ram C/V & VW Routan, V6 3.6L, 12V 160 Amp, 6-Groove Pulley

So this alternator was purchased because the alternator in my 2016 Dodge Grand caravan was going out. And I thought I would share what I did to install it. I watched videos of other people doing the installation and my friend happens to have a garage with a four-post lift. Certainly comes in handy when trying to install an alternator in the bottom of this car. So one video showed removing the hoses to the coolant to bring the alternator out the top. But I found it much easier to remove the air conditioning compressor first, then remove the alternator that sits right above it. I disconnected the coolant lines from the compressor and the coolant did leak or evaporate out really fast.Once the compressor was out, undoing the bolts for the alternator and removing the plug and disconnecting the cable, it fell right out. I was holding it while doing so, so it didn't fall out. And then installing the new one was fairly easy. I say easy but this was a very time-consuming when you don't have the right socket. I had two sizes with me and the 13 mm did most the work, but I either had one that was too long or one that was too short and had to go get a socket that was kind of in between and that worked perfect. I have never installed an alternator in this vehicle before, so I'm sure if I knew what I was doing from the get-go this job would have taken maybe a couple hours but it took me more like four and a half. Really the only thing I have left to do is recharge the air conditioning.After the installation and putting the serpentine belt back on, when I fired it up, the battery check engine light was no longer lit. Time will tell how long this lasts, so I will either post another comment down the road saying how it's going or you'll definitely hear from me if it dies in the next few weeks.

Failed within a year.Purchased this August of 2024. It no longer works as of June of 2025. Clearly not built to last the heat and friction. JUNK!

While the installation was a pain, that's Chrysler's fault with the 3.6L engine in the Town and Country. The alternator itself works perfectly.After install it passed all tests.

Fits ok 2017 Dodge Journey SXT 6cyl. 2 weeks ago instaled. Save $

Still going strong 1 year later. Gave it 4 stars as case isn’t as heavy duty as original, but so far no issues.

I received it today, took me 2h to replace the old one on my wife's 2014 Town And Country, is a perfect fit and is looking the same with the original. Battery out of charger at 12.8V, the alternator charging at 14.48V at idle and cold. I hope will last.
