1.5 year later review.
I have had this 8” mod mattress for a year and a half now. I absolutely love it! I have never had another mattress I’ve liked better. I used to buy $1000+ mattresses from mattress firm and other stores. This was my first time ordering a “bed in a box.” I ordered a couple different ones off amazon and liked this one the best. Amazon was great with retuning the others that didn’t work. I got the king size nod and it is true to size and height. When you first get it, it takes a while to expand to it’s full size. After a year and a half it is as good as new and still feels and looks the same. There’s NO weird indentions or what my husband and I jokingly call “ditches” lol. In other words the original form is in no way compromised after using it every night for a year and a half. Both my husband and I love it. It’s a medium firmness in my opinion. My husband likes a soft bed and I like a firm bed, this was a happy medium. When you lay down it has a little give, but not too much. I have horrible back problems and I sleep so much better on this mattress than I have on any $1000+ serta or what have you. Once upon a time I had a tempurpedic, it was way too hot! This Nod mattress is NOT hot in my experience. Even when I was pregnant and had hormonal sweating this did not make me hot. I’m a very hot natured person too so it’s very important to me that my mattress doesn’t add to that problem! With other memory foam mattresses I’ve had, I had to even change clothes during the night, not fun!! I definitely think the comfort and quality of this mattress is comparable to other high quality expensive memory foam mattresses, if not better! Like I mentioned I had to give away the tempurpedic (spelling?) due to it being way too hot! I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone really. I think it accommodates a lot of people due to its adaptive nature and medium feel. I think a medium firmness suits many different people and situations. It’s definitely not in any way a hard bed so if you are used to a soft bed, don’t let the word medium firmness scare you! I can sleep on a more firm bed (due to my back issues) but this works fine for me even though it’s a little softer! I am a stomach sleeper and my husband is a side and back sleeper. It works well for both of us. He is 220lbs and I am 130lbs and we both love it. It’s not easy to find a good bed for a stomach sleeper but this one is a winner! I would definitely recommend this to pregnant ladies, or hot sleepers as well! I also think this would work great for a child, toddler or guest bedroom as well. It’s sure to suit any guest who would come to stay over! Our kids love the bed as well. We eventually are going to order nod beds for their rooms.Oh and also if anyone was wondering I 100% purchased this mattress with MY OWN money and no I am not getting paid for this review or any other type or compensation! This is an honest review of someone who spent their hard earned money on this bed! My father is actually buying one for himself for Christmas because he loves our bed so much! He has lupus and is in the market for a bed that will make him very comfortable!Good luck and remember if it doesn’t work out amazon prime is really easy to return it! Just leave the bed outside your door and they come and get it! I hope my review was helpful to someone out there. I know ordering a bed online is hard. Look up some YouTube reviews, they really help!

A Pleasant Surprise
I bought this mattress to replace yet another air mattress that I have used for years as a replacement for a waterbed mattress. The air mattresses have been okay, the last one I had was a very expensive three chamber model, but it finally met its end (not a leak). I had seen commercials for the "mattress in a box" offerings, so I was curious if they came in a California King size. Some searching on Amazon lead me to Tuft & Needle. They offered very attractive prices as opposed to others I had seen advertised on television. They also carried a California King in an 8" thickness, that was perfect for my existing frame. So after reading both positive and negative reviews, I took the plunge and ordered. It arrived quickly, and in a box that was smaller than I expected. Unrolling and removal of the plastic protection covers was simple enough for me, but I would suggest two people do it for ease. I did it myself, so it can be done, but two people would make short work of the job and endure far less of a struggle.I experienced no strong chemical aroma that I had read about in some reviews. After a couple of hours I tested it out. The instructions said it was okay to use after two or three hours. My initial response was that of pleasant surprise. It was very comfortable and filled the bed frame exactly as I had hoped. It also allowed me to use my normal bed rails once again as the new mattress did not stick up above the rails. After I got the bedding on, the whole bed appeared much lower to the ground than it did before. That was really because the old air mattress was a good 12" and it had a 4" memory foam topper on top of it. Making it actually taller. This was not a problem. My first night of sleep on the mattress was blissful. So comfortable, dare I add, "soothing"? At first, I was sort of afraid I would sink, the foam compress, and feel the wood underneath. That did not happen. It also does not sleep hot, which was another worry. Yes, like all mattresses, you leave a warm spot, but the mattress dissipates the body heat and allows me a wonderfully comfortable night of rest. All subsequent sleeps have been just as comfortable and pleasurable. I honestly could not be happier with the experience I have had with my Tuft & Needle mattress. The cost was a lot less than I expected to pay for a mattress in a box. I had hesitation that I would get cheaper quality, but that fear was proved wrong. I have received nothing but great sleep and the feeling of a well made purchase.I can only imagine that the thicker versions would be just as, if not more comfortable, but I am completely satisfied with the one I purchased. In my reading, I believe that the "model" I chose is an exclusive to Amazon. They do offer a satisfaction guarantee, but since my satisfaction was met and exceeded, I will not be using it.If you are considering purchasing this mattress, do so with confidence. If for some reason you are not satisfied, use their guarantee. I believe that you will be just as satisfied as I am with this mattress. I would suggest not judging it until it has fully expanded (A couple of days), though I knew I had made the right choice the first night I spent on it.Thank you Tuft & Needle!

This mattress makes me look forward to going to bed at night
This is my second Tuft and Needle mattress purchase, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable yet extremely comfortable mattress. It shipped quickly, and after following the instructions on letting the mattress expand, we noticed no smell like the mattresses in a box sometimes have, and my goodness is it comfortable. I am not being dramatic when I say my boyfriend and I actually get excited and talk about how comfortable our bed is every single night. This mattress is firm and supportive yet conforms to you and is still cozy. I am a stomach sleeper and my boyfriend is a side sleeper and it’s perfect for both of us. Definitely recommend for the comfort and quality, but also for the ease of shipping, and set up.

Soft with some edge support issues.
This hybrid twin xl mattress offers a medium-plus firmness that's a welcome change for those who've found other mattresses too firm. It inflated well with no strong odor, though the manufacturer's warning about not keeping it boxed too long might raise concerns about older stock. While the mattress's softness is a major plus, its edge support is lacking. You might find yourself rolling towards the edge with little to no resistance.Durability is another question mark. Unlike firmer mattresses that might soften comfortably over time, it remains to be seen if this already soft mattress will maintain its comfort or degrade very poorly.
