How long does it last?

Since there isn’t helium in them, it can last a pretty long time. The color on the balloons gets a bit dull but I had mine up for over a week (at the results of a 3 year old) I also recommend getting different sizes of balloons to fill in gaps. The glue dots work great for that. Oriental Trading company balloons are great and thicker

ARe there directions on how to create the rainbow somewhere?

Included is a long plastic strip with holes that you put the tied balloons through. Super easy!

Do you need air or helium?

Just air is fine, although helium would help creating an freestanding arch.

Does the product come with only 1 glue dot? How will we stick 100 ballons with 1 dot?

No, it comes with several, Also comes with 1 balloon strip
