Orbit 24634 B-hyve Bluetooth Hose Faucet Timer

The thing works and works well, but the threads aren't built for Australia so I had to force it on. Those hoses aren't coming off now!Update - decreased to 1 star.1. No mention of needing a "Gen 2" wifi hub so I've had to buy another wifi hub for $75. Old B-Hyve doesn't work on Gen2 so now I have two.2. The model that was sent to me had a duplicate MAC address so it falls off the app and becomes useless and now it's past the refund date so I have to put in for a warranty replacement.

So, on initial setup (Manually like I’ve done with my other 4 Non-BHive hose timers), I found this one frustrating.1). I was doing it on a very sunny morning & it was almost impossible to read the digital screen.2). My understanding of what was being referred to as Zones, this unit has 4.After fussing with it laying under an umbrella so I could see 😂 I decided this was BS, turned the Dial to Off & pressed the Main button down for 5 seconds to “RESET”!PLAN B1). Downloaded the BHive Ap on my phone2). Followed the instructions to connect via Bluetooth3). Allowed for the Firmware update (5 minutes or so)4). Set up each “Zone/Hose Connection”, the Time to Start, How Long, etc. via the Ap,& now everything works perfect!A few notes:A). When using the Ap/Advance Set Up, you have more options than doing it without the Ap.Example…… Different Cycles & Zones with Seperate Run times.B). The Bluetooth option operates at a good distance, they say 150’?, but I’m using it at about 50’ with no issues. (I did not buy the WiFi Unit)C). When “Selecting the Days” you need to “Tap” to Select. They are initially “All Off”, which seems counterintuitive, but that just me 😂😂

Read lots of reviews about people having pairing issues. I decided to try with just BT and have been very happy with the results. BT works great when I'm inside and not too far away, not many walls in between. I've had to walk to the next room to get a connection, but that's much better than having to walk outside to the timer. App works great once you understand you are assigning programs to slots and that you likely need Advanced Mode. I have not noticed any water pressure differences with the timer, but I have to run with a pump as I'm on a hill near the water tower. I found I could not run more than five sprinklers on a hose line so needed to add another timer. The XD 2-port does not have BT, so now I have another XD 4-port for expandability!

Works great. But I do have a complaint... It only waters one zone at a time. Otherwise... very easy thing to setup and waters my lawn as scheduled.

We installed irrigation for ALL of our flower gardens, vegetable gardens, and newly planted trees. It is savng me hours a day to have this all automatic and not have to turn irrigation on and off. I am sure it is saving water as well because I can water in the dawn and at night. Best part is I can leave home for several days and everything is watered. Love it!!
