needed it for work. it is easy to program and works fine so far. PS: why did DEll decide to do the laptop lock holes smaller for their new models? so we can all by new locks? my old ones work fine but now useless!

I purchased 6 of these for my work on many of the business dell latitude and precision laptops with excellent reliability to them. It is a good idea to make sure to use non movable anchor to wrap around so it is not easily removed, this will ensure your devices stay protected

Very happy with this lock so far. The cable has a dual-swivel attachment to the laptop so it's easy to orient it at any angle. And the combination wheels move nice and easily, but naturally stop on the discrete numbers, making it easy to enter the combination (with a good feel).

I order two of these, one for a Dell XPS 15 9570 and one for a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559. The lock fits the Dell XPS 15 9570 but not the Inspirion 15 7000. The plastic-coated looped cable is medium weight so not too heavy to add to your laptop case when traveling. Its adequate to prevent the laptop from being easily taken but not from motivated thieves. The cable attaches to the combination lock by a pin which lets the cable pivot over 90 degrees. The 4-number combination is user-settable and fairly easy to do but the adjacent numbers tend to move when dialing in the combo. So be sure to dial in the exact 4 number combo before setting it. There is a really nice combination "window" for easy legibility unlike my other Kensington combination laptop lock which just has an indicator arrow. If you do not want a keyed laptop lock, this is a good option.

Works well for college student. please check before buying. different laptop use different locks. had to look up online how to reset the code , there were no instructions. this posed a slight difficulty but once it was done it worked well.

Bought this for my sons Dell G7. The connection is very secure and seems it will keep the honest people honest. If someone is out stealing laptops then it may not hold up to a quality pair of diagonal cutters. I cut cable at work this big in a snap with mine. This size seems to be the standard though. I love the combo lock dosent do any good to have to worry about a key in your dorm room.

This lock works with the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Model 7573. Took me a couple of tries to reset the combo, but not a big deal as I don't expect to need to reset it again. I saw some reviews that said the lock does not fit tight against the laptop and wiggles a bit. I found that to be true, although no more so than my previous laptop lock. Initially the locking cylinder looked too big for my laptop as it extended past the bottom of the laptop and did not allow the computer to lay flat on the desk. Turns out the locking mechanism is not centered in cylinder and when I turned it over it fits fine. Cable thickness is on par with my previous lock. This product will do what I need it to do.

As instructed, I set my code turning the "set" tumbler, entering number, and then turning "set" tumbler back. Tested new code, spin code, tested button lock and then set to my new code, button ok. Tested on laptop, spin code after insert, and was tugging on it to make sure it held. All of the sudden the button depressed and the lock came out (Thank God). At first I thought I did not get it in all the way but as I was looking at it I NOTICED THE SET TUMBLER HAD DEPRESSED AGAIN PARTIALLY. About the same time I noticed this, while setting it back to my original code, THE SET TUMBLER POPPED UP. Now I have a lock with some random code that I do not know.@ Dell - This new lock will be a decision point in any future purchase. It is ridiculous to abandon a proven, trusted lock mechanism for this silly implementation.
