Holistic approach and lifestyle change to live pain-free
It seems like many of us end up with one form of arthritis or another by the time we are elderly. Instead of being one of those statistics, this book could help change those odds. Healing Arthritis: A 3-Step Process to Conquering Arthritis Naturally by Dr. Susan Blum, a leading expert in functional medicine, offers a better approach to healing arthritis permanently. Even more inspiring to me, she shares her own personal healing story in this book along with her expertise.I have osteoarthritis in an ankle that I broke when I was in my early 20s. I didn't really feel the arthritis until the last couple of years due to a combination of stress and a tendon tear in the same ankle. I don't want to take a lot of medication so I decided to read Dr. Blum's book to see if I could make a difference naturally.Dr. Blum gives a lot of information in an easy to read format. She first explains the various types of arthritis that one can contract. She also shares stories of real people who have those types of arthritis and how this program helped their lives improve and helped them to heal. As with many health issues, she shares how this issue is best helped by healing the gut first. To me, this makes sense, as I can tell that I have had some digestive issues this past year or two after facing so much stress. I especially like how her 3-step program includes a holistic program. Dr. Blum tells us how we can help ourselves holistically by changing our diet, better handling our stress through various natural methods that she discusses, and by moving more. I like that this program looks at the person's whole lifestyle to make changes. The program she offers patients and has used herself also uses a variety of supplements. I would add that she also sells those supplements but does not require that you purchase hers for the program. For me that is something I will have to budget into our household budget. Thankfully, I have a supportive spouse who wants to see me succeed.I have not gone through the Healing Arthritis program in the book yet. However, I believe that it will be helpful. I don't, however, think it will be overly easy. It will take time and discipline on my part to make the program work. At the same time, I think my health is worth it. Dr. Blum shares in Healing Arthritis her own challenges in making the program work through some large stresses in her life and how she worked through those challenges to do it. Her tenacity in working her own program, sharing stories from other patients who have done the program, and her complete outline of what to do, give me hope that I can also do this for myself and help myself to feel much better in the long run. I would recommend anyone with arthritis read the book and give it a try too.I received a copy of Healing Arthritis by Dr. Susan Blum from the publisher and NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review in exchange for the book. I also pre-ordered a book from Amazon so I could have a hard copy for myself.

Believe in yourself. This book is going to give you the power.
Great book that is giving you step by step plan how to deal with any arthritis. It starts from first month and guiding you to finish six months program. Everything that you need is in this book. Just add your patience and intuition to follow. This book has a lot of knowledge that Dr. Susan Blum is sharing for everyone. She has a courage to give it to the people. It is going to change your life, what to eat and how our body reacts on some food. I didn’t know before that gluten, sugar and dairy could be so harmful for the body. She is sharing easy things that could do miracle for you. Our body can heal by itself. We just need to know how. And if you are really ready to try just simple elimination of your diet it is going to work. Fish oil, probiotics, curcumin and vitamins are not so expensive. You can even buy it from amazon. Dr. Susan Blum is not advertising her own supplements. She really wants to help people struggling with so serious diseases as all kind of arthritis. Her other book that I bought before “ The immune system recovery plan” is also must have book. These two books are the base for understanding how things are working in your body and how to help yourself. Dr. Susan Blum had cured herself from Rheumatoid arthritis and trough her experience you can do the same. I really believe that the diet could be as a medicine. Thank you for the wonderful things that you are doing for people! Some additional information you can search in her YouTube videos and she has a Facebook page. Ask any questions and you will have an answer. I’m doing also juicing for already four mounts now. Carrot, celery, beets, cucumber, cabbage - this is the basic vegetable, plus l’m adding ginger to the any vegetable combination in the morning juice. How to drink juice and what to use for that you can find in this book - https://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Vegetable-Fruit-Juices-Walker/dp/089019033X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519314494&sr=8-1&keywords=norman+walker+juicing+bookThe book is also amazing. This is in addition for what I follow for anti inflammatory protocol. Just take your time to heal yourself! Trust yourself! Good luck! Wishing everyone to be healthy!

Good Arthritis Relief Advice But Included Recipes Are So-So
I was hoping Healing Arthritis would help me find ways to lessen osteoarthritic pain. It does offer ways to do this--through supplementation, meditation and elimination of unhealthy foods. The regimen Susan Blum suggests is almost too rigorous to follow, but I’m doing my best, and noticing changes for the better. The key to both RA and osteoarthritis improvement focuses on joint inflammation, and how to tone it down. This book explains the connection, and how to go about finding relief without using traditional medications. My only gripe are the included recipes. It’s as though the author suddenly forgot who her main reading audience might be—older adults who seldom, if ever, use ingredients like chia seeds, goji berries and quinoa. Improving gut health doesn’t have to involve unusual ingredients or flavorless recipes. It was the only section of the book which I found almost useless. There are many other cookbooks out there that better address inflammation through tasty recipes using common vegetables and hearty grains. I especially like Cook For Your Gut Health by America’s Test Kitchen.Pairing this book with others, like the cookbook mentioned above, really does help arthritis sufferers lessen their pain through better intestinal health. I'd rather find ways to tame/thwart inflammation than mask it with over-the-counter drugs.
