Love it
Far better than I expected. Really well written with useful ideas and advise for finding balance in life. Even had some great recipes included! Finished the book in one evening but just know it will be one I revisit in the future

Lovely book, purchased another straightaway as a gift.
Really lovely book. Not a lot of reading but what there is is inspirational. Really nice images and designs.Bought a second copy for my best friend as soon as I started reading it as she wanted to borrow it and I knew I wanted to keep my copy for myself!

Balance is everything!
I love this book, it’s not too dissimilar to how I was raised in Yorkshire during the 70’s & 80’s.I agree wholeheartedly with the concept of balance and as we would say: “everything in moderation!”Thinking on the margin.. We as a society have become too reliant on consumption and consumerism. We’ve lost practical skills, spend to follow trends and keep up with an insta social media lifestyle. There’s always been those who’ve kept up with the Jones’s but at least the Joneses were local, people are trying to keep up with celebrities from all over the world now, ironically the celebrities are simply famous for being famous and living of other people’s income (traditionally called socialites).It’s refreshing to read little books that depict not only another country’s idealism but also to look back and re-connect with our own British Culture and heritage.There’s no contents in this book that are only unique to Sweden. Most everything in this book I recognise from my own British childhood. I’m glad the Swedes kept their cultural habits, and haven’t veered off too much into the consumerism culture.I love our old traditional social values, and still live by them. I’d definitely recommend this book and Hygge

pretty, but light weight - in every sense
The principle theory behind this book is fine - moderation in all things. My dad used to say it and who could argue with it? Unfortunately the book itself comes over like smug propaganda from the Swedish Tourist Board. The writer seems to pity the rest of the world who aren't privileged enough to be Swedish, and the 'help' she offers is very minimal. If you can't spend four consecutive weeks on a summer holiday when you can roam freely through a largely uninhabited wilderness with your caravan, swimming in lakes and playing the guitar round a camp fire, then why not take a walk at lunch times? Hardly in the same league. There is also very little to actually read. Lots of pretty pictures, and text divided up into cute little paragraphs, but the whole thing took me about an hour to read. Not great value for money.

Lagom = Just right!
Having lived in Sweden for a few years, I was aware of the word lagom yet did not fully understand its application!I would stop short of saying this book change my life, I don’t think it’s that kind of book! I did however pick and choose the areas that I wanted to focus on, areas I had an interest in, and then used the book to get me thinking of how I could improve myself in these areas.For example, fitness. Lagom fitness isn’t about blasting it at the gym six days a week, eating 8 tonnes of protein for breakfast and so on. No, it’s about getting out, being in nature and (amongst other things!) choosing to bike more often! That’s how I see it!Enjoying your favourite (less healthy!) foods in moderation, being able to walk away from work at home time and understand the importantance of a work life balance.If you are looking for idea starters for a simpler, less stressful (yet still committed) life: I’d definitely recommend you have a read of this one!

Wow!
I’m happily surprised by this book, to say I bought it on a whim because it was on kindle offer, is an understatement. I was against books of Lagom and Hygge as something you can’t teach, but do, are. However, I eat my hat, this book has taught me a great deal and given lots of food for thought, so thank you.

Beautiful book with some good points but very ‘Sweden’ focused
Beautiful book with some good points Written from a female prospective.The book itself is beautiful with great illustrations and quick read sections that you can dip in and out of.Obviously it’s focus is on the Swedish concept Lagom as it’s a Swedish word but some of the sections would need magor shifts in society or government changes to be relevant in the uk such as the working hours and child care support.There are some food points in here and thought provoking ideas that are a good starting point to then look into things in more detail.Would make a lovely gift as it is so well presented but if your looking for a step by step book to really get you moving this might not be the one for you.
